Any body shooting deer? Let's see some pictures?

my buddy shot a 180 inch 8 pointer in illinois last week, when i get some pictures I will post them,

my younger brother just got into bow hunting this year. He's never shot a deer ever. Yesterday he got his first. I wonder if he drank the blood like they did in that movie red dawn.
It was a small deer about 160 lbs. maybe 2 years old, antlers were tiny 4 points but he got it. shot the arrow all the way thru, ran 30 yds bled out. he still can't find the arrow.

And I just noticed he's wearing a shirt from my old company that he does a lot of work for.

someone bagged one on RT 4 just east of east beach road. damn thing exploded into 50 pieces.

LOL thats gotta be gross, least you dont need to make a stop at the butchers though.

Got an 8 pointer 175 dressed. Not a post card deer. Also put to sleep a fork horn.

A guy I know sent me a text with this pic of a 10 point buck he shot.

he even has down tines.... NICE !

NIce job. I have seen deer only 3 times out, and not close enough to shoot with the bow. I shot the sluggun today, patterned very nice with 2 3/4 accutips out at 100 yds

I havent done crap for scouting but gonna give it a go next monday see what I can come up with.

The woods by the gun club/ M & M trail always holds a few nice deer.

Lots of guys hunting that these days I see em in the mornin and at night. i live 2 minutes from the gun club

Yep the gene pool is spared again. At least for deer.

I double lunged this guy at 810 am, ran 60 yards and piled up. Thanks to Canalratt for helping with the recovery. This is the first time I have ever had back to back years with a deer, and 2 8 points at that, I am pumped. :jump1:

It's funny but my heart was pounding when I heard it coming. Then when I finally saw it, I told myself to calm it down, and make a good shot. So I took a couple of deep breaths and tracked him with the bow fully drawn . Then it was like watching a hunting show. The arrow did not pass all the way through, but was sticking out of both sides, and both sides broke of leaving about 5" inside him. He actually dropped close to where we park our trucks so it was a short drag. I am psyched and still pumped.

I saw a couple of guys heading up the driveway by the cranberry bogs yesterday morning.

Made it out this afternoon and got busted, heard him stepping through the swamp, plop, plop, plop, then he grunted, winded me and took off!

Hunting, got to love it...

Word is there were 6 cars in his driveway on opening day, he back to letting a %$%$%$%$load hunt there?

Our group took another 8 out of there this morning. There was some shooting from down the mill way.

I bagged this one about 17 years ago! The ones on the front and back yesterday.

I was so far out in the woods a buddy came down with an ATV with lobster toats bungeed to the front and back for the two does. Saved me hours of dragging...

If that's your wife your a lucky man! Or is she your buddy with the lobster totes.....:rotf2:

These were taken eairler this year within walking distance from my house.

These were taken about 80 yards from the other bucks and roughly 7 weeks later.

The rewards of alot of scouting. The first was taken from my property and the second was 200 yards off my property. I also shot a doe with the slug gun. Having a bang up year!!

Def. not a problem. I have waited almost 30 years to have a situation like this. I finally shoot quality deer each year. Of course I feed the crap out of them all year to get to this point but well worth the effort.
