In the middle of a cut...crash...hard reboot and my disks disappeared? Is this a virus? Bad disk?

It's currently sitting on the second screen right now.

iamskippy 12-17-2010 08:44 AM

* plays taps * - good by hard drive, but there is a chance that the slot on the mobo bought it, swap the IDE ribbons with the CD rom drive that is showing up weird on the screen,

UserRemoved1 12-17-2010 08:49 AM

ugh that's that new machine too

UserRemoved1 12-17-2010 09:00 AM

rebooted it and got this so far

PRBuzz 12-17-2010 09:02 AM

Make sure that the IDE cable is snug on the drive? Make sure the jumper on the hard drive is tight, secure?

Reboot!

usb stick is getting refreshed with latest files

I told you 4 years ago you need to rethink how you do 'puting and put more of a disaster prevention bend in it - kinda like you do on the one computer at home.

RAID disks, with monitoring and alerts, maybe some low wattage / SFF RAID SSD system. It would be an interesting discovery process ;)

UserRemoved1 12-17-2010 09:34 AM

i got disaster prevention now john. I got a usb stick with all my stuff on it...good within a week or two at all times.

sff raid ssd? that like a panty raid?

UserRemoved1 12-17-2010 09:34 AM

it didn't even save a file I saved this morning. poof right gone off the disk. Wierd.

Redsoxticket 12-17-2010 09:50 AM

If your able to boot PC in DOS mode find the directory of saved files using dos commands.
Then use the copy dos command

WTH did he do? (Really - not what he thinks he did :devil2: )

Bypass boot inhibit to boot to flash / ramdisk or something?

UserRemoved1 12-22-2010 12:33 PM

I reworked the formulation drive so that the side video processor changed memory defrags, then I cut the microprocessor speed to enable bi annual calibration of the usb stick. was easy right skippy

:easy:

UserRemoved1 12-22-2010 12:37 PM

translate that to SOME NUMB #^&#^&#^&#^& left the usb stick in the front of the computer then picked the computer up and set it down on the front. Squished that #^&#^&#^&#^&er flatter than lady gaga's boobies man.

It had ALL the files for that machine on it and was the only backup. I fixed it. All usb sticks go in the back of the machines now :smash:

He makes a mean cup of instant coffee, i'll tell yea....
Just kidding

The USB stick snaped almost in half he took it apart and re soldered it back together. Got the pc to read it and we pulled all the files off it. this was after we got the PC up and running again( hard drive went bye bye ).

UserRemoved1 12-22-2010 03:36 PM

You've never seen acid until you've seen my coffee. Eats right through styrofoam
