My beach partner friend tore his achilles tendon attempting to play soccer with his college athlete kids! Damn...now I can't free load off him putting me on fish.

My Mom died last March; I still have her Braun Lift wheelchair van Ford 150 Econoline in my possession. I am going to loan it to him as soon as he gets fixed so he can get up to the Canal and fish the Pier or the East Basin bulkhead for starters.

Too many of our great fishing buddies on the DL!!! Get well soon George!:uhuh:

That's a tough injury for an old goat- my partial tear has taken 18 months to stop giving me grief, even with PT.

Jesus George! I stopped trying to keep up with my kids. The problem with aging (yes you are aging!) is that it takes a lot longer to heal. youth seems to bonce back in no time, old men like you and me, well...this could take some real time. Good health to you!

George, sorry to hear of your injury, will say a prayer for you to heal quickly and get back out on the water.

Ouch George! Sorry to hear this. Having been a recent victim of stoopid pet tricks I can empathize, but in this case I really don't want to feel you pain.

Nasty injury to convalesce..... Tell the kids to put the boat away before they go back.... Sux George. That is a season ending injury for sure. Might even keep you from snowblower duty this year as well......

Good Lord George, playing with 20 something college athletes? wow.. talk about Russian Roulette...you are lucky you got away with just an achillies injury, if they were going for blood they would have taken you out at the knees.. ACL, MCL kinda stuff, the soccer injury that slows you down for a few months..(if you're 20 something)..

Heal Well, (and fast as possible)...and leave the "kicks" to the young ones!!!

Hang in there George, tough injury. On a more positive note, you should be ready to go by May 1st!

I am surprised Alan was so gentle explaining the injury to us. I am sure he is lobbying to do the surgery for you :)On a serious note if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. Bummer.

Ya know I went to see my brother, a doctor, a few years ago about some issue. He said I know exactly what it is: You turned 50 and your warranty expired.

Hey, Doc, now it is your turn in the exam room. The problem is you will need to go to another part of the hospital for awhile. Having a little experience with your chosen field of endeavor, I can say that the injury may be very painful, especially when going through the PT work. Did they cast it?? I hope that you have a good and fast recovery so we can finish our conversation the next time we meet at the office.
