Waiting for my crew to head back out today.
2 hours on a 130 pulling 45# drag. He was tailwrapped and dragged us 5 miles. I'll post details later. I could not frigging believe this fishes raw power. Un-friggin stoppable and blistering runs even over an hour in even 2 hours in. Just would not turn on it's side and go deep all up top and just pulled an pulled and pulled never ever stopped Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
CONGRATS!!! Hell of a fish! Nothing like the sound of a 130 under full load.
You deserve it! |

Looks like the tower hasn't collapsed yet either. |
Are you sure that fish weighs 715? Looks like maybe 685- 700 tops! LMAO!!!! Totally freaking kidding! What a great catch! I can't even imagine! Congrats!

Yes thank you all was quite the catch. Welcome to the big boys club I guess.
Dressed out @ 593 and on the way across the planet. I can still hear the reel screaming and the twin turbos wound up in reverse. while the transom bashes violently backwards thru the sea. The props cavitating, the water rushing over the transom, thru the scuppers and into my buddies face. Never rolled on it side it was just swimming east 10 feet under the surface. Only saw it's white belly once and that's when I sunk the harpoon. My buddy followed it up with a flygaff for good measure Was definitely a little nervous walking under it hanging off the tower but more so the forklift on the fish pier at low tide. Just my buddy Jon riff-Raff and I in the boat we have been looking for this fish for a long time. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
