Farewell....
Hey S-B,
Just wanted to say good Bye now before its to late. Im heading south, as my wife got a great job offer that we just couldn't pass up in Fort Myers, FL. I want to thank S-B and all its members that i've met and have followed my post and adventures thru the years. In a way its sad to leave the things, fish, and people I know, especially family. No more ice fishing or trout and salmon! or Stripers!!!! But Im sure the snook, Reds, Tarpon, sharks and 1,000 other species will help me get by lol. Honestly I feel guilty for not posting as much as I use to, but time on the forums is less time spent fishing. Something that becomes harder to find as you get older. I refuse to give in tho. I will be around till october and then head down. My wife has already moved, is liking her new job. Hopefully the fall will give me a great farewell as the spring was awesome. I'll try to keep you all up dated in my florida adventures! Thank you all for everything! Not good bye, but till next time! Tight Lines- Roy |
Wow, good Luck Roy iv never met you but have always looked up to you as a fisherman, you are a very well rounded angler and even thou I don't know you I'll miss the fact your not up here catching everything under the waters of new England. Iam sure you'll love the fihery down there!

So now that there r no more mass fish records for you to own you r gonna go take over FLA, eh.
Best of luck to you Roy. Unfortunately the only time I got to fish with you was the most tragic of my fishing life. U will be missed by us but the fish in mass will be glad you're gone. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Family first.....Stay on board here reguraly. John can give you your own dedicated forum loaded with pics to make us all wanna flee to FLA. Best of luck dude. |

You are one of the good ones Roy! Just a good guy always willing to share and give of yourself. I will miss seeing you around here and there. Stay in touch on the usual internet spots. You will do well in Florida with many new adventures ahead there with your wife. I wish you both the very best. Lets try to fish together at least once before you go.:fishin:

Good luck, Roy, and thank you for all that I've learned from you.

Roy - you are doing the right thing with Family First and you have a great Lady to love and support. Welcome to the next chapter in your life and don't forget, you can always re-read the previous ones.
Hopefully we'll see you from time to time and otherwise I'm thinking ROAD TRIP :rotf2: It has been a true pleasure to know you these past years. As Larry said, you are one of the Good Guys :btu: The door is always open  Hmmm, Florida Forum? :nopics: |
Florida forum might be cool!
|
Good luck, Roy. Once you hook into a tarpon, you'll forget all about those weak-assed pajama striped fat girls.
I hear that the other "linesiders" aren't too shabby as fighters, either. |
Best of luck to you. You are doing the right thing, no question. Enjoy the journey life hands you and don't regret making a change.
Besides, the fishing is really not that great here (compared to other parts of the world). And frankly there a lot more fish to enjoy beyond SB. You will find FL welcomes rec fishermen and the state has a lot more to offer the fishermen and boater than MA does. My wife and I are kicking around buying a small place in the keys to winter in. I enjoyed following your fishing escapades in both fresh and salt water. You are one elite fisherman in this area. - All the best to you and your family. |
Best of luck in your new start.
|
Hey best of luck Roy. Jeanne and I will be on Marco Island all of Jan and Feb so stay on the board and I'll fill you in with all the gossip when we get there.
|
So basically what you're sayin my chances of catching something around here just went up dramatically now that your out of the picture next year, niceee:hee:... havin an angler of your cal. at riverview is/was awesome, you'll be sorely missed there. Best of luck in the future, and in FL bud!

Good luck Roy!

I thought you were gonna say you were going on that new reality show Top Hooker or whatever it's called...
We will miss you but I'm sure you'll be having plenty of fun down there with all that nice weather, all kinds of fish and bikinis and stuff. Best wishes to you and your wife. When I go down to Ft. Myers, will you take me fishing? :) hope to see you at the canal a few more times before you leave |
All the best Roy to you and the wife.
|
A whole new world to explore, sounds exciting to me. Best of luck.
|
Happy trails and good hunting.

Best of luck in Florida.
Forget the goodbye stuff. Computer is still on the desk. You will be our man on the scene in Florida! :) |
Good for you, Bud.
|
good things await you in ft. meyers! I moved down to pine island about 15 months ago. i love it! Tarpon.snook.reds and trout! the only thing i miss are the blitzes. it is for me more like it was fishing in the late 80's and early 90's when you had to work hard to find the fish as the bass were just starting to come back. Feel free to pm me. Pete
|
Best of Luck Roy L. You'll catch wherever you go. Keep us in the loop.
Ice |
Best luck to you and your wife, Roy! Don't forget to share your fishing experience in Florida with us here! We're gonna miss you!
|
Roy,
Having met your bride at TFCTFN a year or two back and seen the pix of you and her at your wedding in Carib I don't blame you one second for following her to Ft. Myer. She is one great gal. I can only wish to hoist one with you on or off Canal before you leave us in October. A few of us get down to Naples in Winter so keep in touch. God bless us all. |
Good luck Roy! May the future hold tight lines and many videos to share. I think you should leave a mark of remembrance before you leave like scrawling Roy was here on a rock along with your sponge bob rod since it won't be able to handle the species down there.

Always a pleasure running into you...keep us posted on the interblab as to your fishing adventures. You'll love it there...it's just the next chapter in Off the Hook Fishing!

Thanks everyone!!!! You all made me smile. Going to miss many of you and hopefully i'll see some along the ditch before I go. I love fishing florida and have done well there. Never really wanted to live there, but as my wife has supported me over the years. I must do the same. I'm mostly excited about learning something new. Not that I knew it all here but it is predictable for me. So many species both fresh and salt as well as wildlife to photograph. Good chance I get eaten lol
again Thank You! |
