Not being an alarmist, just a realist.....

My list;
Haul boat, empty, cover, leave on street away from trees.
Clean out gutters and put on downspout extensions.
Set up floor pumps and hoses in basement/shop.
Get tools, stock, etc off shop floor. This will be the biggest PITA.

Go fishing
Run chainsaw
Put boat in boat yard for the day of

clean major reachable gutters
Park boat in path of large tree fall
Stock up on Patron

Make sure my teams know I will have a power outage for several DAYS

Discharge my phone

Fill propane tanks for my grill...
Buy food for my kids

Fuel the Genni... chain saw and brush chipper.. everything else will take care of it'self.

Have to think about drinking all the beer :gu: before it warms up but didn't they say cold air being swept in?

pick up my truck from the shop, pack it up with rods and such fish, sleep, hope to hell classes are cancelled (being a coastal school we will be i think),

Plus I stashed 15 gal of gas just in case.

get a battery operated TV so that nothing , not even a hurricane , interfers with watching the game on Sunday! :)

Empty the ATM, cash is king when the power goes out

Gas the wagon (already packed) and look for the nearest jetty that historically blows up on a good NE blow

I might clean out the gutters, but other than that , pretty much nothing
may get gas, eat most of the food in the fridge.

Very clever

No trees around here. Power lines on nice, treeless street. Commuter rail 1 mile from the house with an 8 mile shot to the city. No problem here (maybe make sure everything in the basement is up off the floor).

Have not yet fished Beavertail and I get the distinct impression this is not the weekend for a first.

Nothing as of yet. I had the chainsaw running last week and sharpened the chain. If it looks like its gunna get bad i may pull my boat out of the lake but at least in the lake it wont get hit with any branches. I cant see much falling from the trees, not after last year, i got a cord of wood just from the property. Its only an acre.

Buy Halloween candy for the neighborhood kids tomorrow or Saturday instead of Tuesday. :rotf2:

Everything else is pretty much in shape. The grill is still lashed to the deck rail which I did to prepare for Earl before it vanished out to see. Trash barrels in the closet built into the false chimney. Deck chairs stacked inside the slider, and table flipped over so wind can't get under it an pick it up. Thing has a solid 2" thick glass top---it ain't going anywhere flipped over.

Food. Check
Beer. Check
Ammo. Check

I guess I'll put away all the patio furniture, then hit the liquor store tomorrow. I'm glad I procrastinated on raking the leaves.

Just got limes for the Captain Morgan. So I'm all set. How many storms of the century have we survived in the last ten years now.

Got beer,grill good,plenty of snacks,big trees next to truck-LOL,just need another storm thats almost a Nor easter.

Fridge i stocked with a nice limit of tog up to 9 lbs. The propane tanks are filled, thats the easy stuff tomorrow i guess its time to batten down the hatches on the house and boat.

Hit the grocery store on Friday and got a few household things like candles and a couple of extra LED lights. I bought a few of bags of ice in case I need to transfer the fridge contents to cooler. I'll put the outdoor furniture and equipment in the shed this morning. That's really it. I laughed to myself when my ex said she was trying to find a generator. I'll try and take some storm video from the beach and harbor when sandy decides visit us tomorrow.
