Is Togfest happening this year?

I would like a spot if the date works.......just wondering

PRBuzz 09-30-2013 06:29 PM

I already have a boat load, official or not we will do toggin some weekend.

niko 09-30-2013 06:37 PM

lets do it up. how about sunday October 27th. for the uninitiated - a bunch of us with boats get together and hammer on tog pretty good. if you have a boat bring it and if you need a ride, sharpen your hoing skills (booze ,crabs and food get rides) and find someone who's willing to take you. it's a good time

Just a thought....

Togfest should include a post fishing social event at a local restaurant/bar/etc some place we could pull our boat up to and hang with each other for a while, share a beer and regale our days adventure. Just for an hour or two..perhaps falmouth, woods hole, New Bedford, Fairaven? (When I am fishing with my buddies on nantucket we usually end up at the anglers club afterwards and it is a lot of fun.)

Most of us will be on trailers but we need a place for sandman and sea dangles to tie up

ugh, patriots/dolphins in Gillette that day. i have to retract my statement, I am probably out.

bassballer 10-01-2013 01:04 PM

Im gonna try and make this. Not 100% though. If so i can fit another guy. Id be trailering the seacraft from Attleboro if that closer for anyone.

it's a good time, try to go. one thing we need to do this year is anchor up closer together - it's much easier to bust balls plus dangles usually puts on a show. i'll take my boat if it's flat but it never is so i'll need to ho a ride from someone. we need more boats

bassballer 10-01-2013 03:29 PM

Ill be trailering my 20' Seacraft. We might pound but it'll get out there.

goose goes in his 17', but he's not right

Mr. Sandman 10-01-2013 03:45 PM

There is a restaurant next to CMS I think it is called fathoms. We might be able to dock there while we eat... I have been there a couple times but not via boat. But there might be something more convenient along one of the marinas there. Temptations is a stip club across the street

Nebe 10-01-2013 03:47 PM

Popes island performing art center!

PRBuzz 10-01-2013 04:26 PM

There is a DD with a huge parking lot & restroom! Closer to the strip joint....also not that far from CMS, but I think CMS parking lot is able to handle trucks/trailers. Not for from docks either.

ThrowingTimber 10-01-2013 04:29 PM

Fathoms is the restaurant next to CMS thats what I was thinking of thanks. Mind is starting to go I was just there this past Saturday :(

Its an 18' for your information:fishslap:

I like this idea. Davey's locker is located in the south end of NewBedford, it has a ramp within walking distance. If Sandman feels comfortable leaving his rig on anchor in front of Davey's he could get shuttled. There is also 3 other ramps that are very close to Davey's, one which is in Fairhaven.

Theres also a good ramp in Padnarum. The Black Seabass which is near the bridge. I have a buddie who has a mooring in padnarum, good chance he has pulled his sail boat by then... I ll find out.

Just throwing couple ideas out there.

niko 10-01-2013 04:46 PM

are you tog fishing in the shipping lanes this year buzzy or are you actually going to fish with us this year

I go where the tog are!

RickBomba 10-01-2013 05:54 PM

I'd certainly pay for gas and bait if someone could fit myself and my baby brother into their boat. Unfortunately, mine will be asleep for the winter at that point.

LMK,
Thanks,
Rick

Sea Dangles 10-01-2013 07:12 PM

If I can host the Bombas my season will be complete. Fathoms is great but under the bridge for Popes Island which could be a pita. If we were to launch from Westport the Back Eddy is at the ramp(which is outstanding)and we are close to great togging. Plenty of space for Sandman there also.

JohnR 10-01-2013 07:14 PM

Any room for fatboy?

fishbones 10-01-2013 08:26 PM

I'd like to get in on this again if I can hitch a ride with someone.

I go with cohen. Boy can slam taug. Back eddy/ westport is best option

niko 10-02-2013 02:42 PM

Westport and the back eddy sounds like a good spot. a place for sandman to tie up is ideal. just so everyone is aware there are some rockpiles outside the river so pay attention if your not familiar with the area. looking forward to this. jeff (fish4strper) is in and i'm riding with him. we need a few more boats so even if you've never togged before join in. I think this is the 4th year of togfest - the bite is outstanding and it's a lot of laughs

Mr. Sandman 10-02-2013 03:32 PM

back eddy, ooooh, that looks nice. First round is on me. (Even if I can not make it!)

What is the date on this event ??? I want to stake this space on my calendar so I don't get overruled by upcoming family stuff.
