I am shocked, but I think we lost Saltheart
Prompted by another thread, I left a message for Mike, and when to google his address to swing by later today.
I ran across his obituary. We have lost Mike White. I am truly sorry to read this. He died February 15th http://www.lincolnfuneralhome.org/ob...iew.php?id=542 |
Going to miss you bud! Lots of good times together.
Awful.
Thanks for all you taught me, Mike. |

Wow - more sad news. RIP Saltheart.
Sad news. He took me the first time I ever fished the canal. I had asked a question on SOL about the canal stating I would be in the area and was going to try fishing there. He PMed me and we met up. Gave me a bunch of round jig heads he poured. He wrapped two rods for me and when people see them, I still get complements on them.
Very sad to hear. I finally got to meet Mike just a month or so ago when he came by to pick up a used lathe. Glad I had the opportunity to meet him. Very sad he is gone. Rest in peace Mike.
Wow, that's a shocker. He was a great guy. RIP bro.
Awful news. He just had surgery I wonder if there were complications afterwards? Either way horrible news. RIP Mike.

RIP Saltheart.

I met mike a couple years ago when he hosted the rod building class. What a great guy, super helpful. You will be missed mike. I had a great talk with him at TFCTFN a few years back.
Judging by the obituary the funeral was last weekend i think.
Wow.
That is depressing... RIP Mike |
My condolences to his Family...
Wow that is terrible. I've been on this site 10 years now. Hard to imagine him not being here as I can remember his posts from some of my first days on here. He's was always very nice and helpful. Really sad. Thought and prayers to his family and friends. R.I.P. :(

Wow, hard to believe
I meet mike a few years ago doing the rod building class with some fellow sb members. Mike was always helpful, on this site and the rod building forum on the other site. Never got to fish with him as his health was an issue last season. Another great all around knowledgable fisherman gone too soon. RIP Mike Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
OMG I'm shocked. He's way to young to be gone. What a nice guy we've lost, way too soon like many before him.
Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. One of the originals on this site, I actually found this site because of him way back around 14-15 years ago. :( very sad news |
That sucks. I only know him from posts, and that he was a greatly respected angler and rod builder. RIP
Very sad news, he has been a fixture on the board since I joined.
RIP Mike |
What a shame, he was such a nice guy and fun to fish with, always willing to share what he knew. RIP my friend, you will be missed.
RIP. I never met him in person but he was always willing to share & teach- even if it was just over PMs. Best wishes to his family & loved ones.
RIP Mike...You will be missed....
Never met the man, but enjoyed his posts among the internet fishing communities. You have to say, that is a classic obituary photo. RIP.
Terrible news, I meet Mike back a couple years ago when he held his rod building class. He was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful throughout the class and beyond. I will forever remember him when I'm putting a new blank on the rod lathe. RIP Mike
Wow...RIP. I was actually going to ask him if he was going to do another rob building class. He's just down the street from me over the border in Cumberland. Sad to hear.
shocked at this. I was talking to him via pm's about a rod I was going to buy from him. Very sad to hear this. Hopefully his fishing gear doesn't get thrown out, hopefully one of his friends can take care of it.
Rest in peace. that's too bad

He taught me a lot about brewing beer. Always kind. Always encouraging. Always ready to share his knowledge. I believe he knew his time was limited and was giving back what others gave to him.
