Some friends and son on a couple different trips and one of my favorite starts to the day; heading out of westport.

Spring time replacement for green crabs for some early shallow Tog and nice sunset pic for later in the year.

Let Leo start taking the boat out by himself (on commercial bass days)
He and his friend did ok for 2 16 years olds.
He turns 17 next week and has his drivers license so this coming summer I don't have to drive them to the marina.

I had a fun season! Best of all was having the opportunity to fish on 10 different boats this season, thanks to all the Capts! yes, yes boat fish don't count! :)

What kind of Ray is that? I had a crazy experience this summer with a ray when I was wading on a mussel bed at an inlet. Scared the crap out of me and was shaped like that. I thought it was a mutant ninja skate. Mine had a 24-30 inch wingspan I'd estimate. Maybe that was the culprit.

I think its called a clearnosed skate..it was over 30" wingspan...I thought i had a stripe r then I turned on my light...

That sounds like a good bet to be the ray that was coming to nibble my toes before I gave him a poke with the rod butt. Thanks, I'll get this thread back on track and share my best from shore this season.

That's from shore. Fishing can be so funny. Usually I'm all geared up wiping out in boulderfields all night, untying eel knots etc. This night the wife wanted to drink wine with her friend so I grabbed some fresh mac and told her to call me when she wanted me to pick her up. Parked at my folks cottage, walked to the beach in bare feet and boom. Best fish of the season. I'll take it!

You are "the great white hunter". Everything but a trophy scup. What is the bottom middle? Mahi with no color?

here are a couple from our Cutty trip in June

The BeeReel overflows with scup during the season, some real buttes. The fish is a blue over silver mahi.

There are no shortage of trophy scup on the BeeReel, even Portugal has monuments and songs about it.
