Had to do the copyright thing :D
this fish was taken from the canal last week on a jig 45 lb 8 oz

beachwalker 07-11-2003 08:18 PM

You sure somebody didn't take a swing at that thing with a five iron ? ;)

These fish are something how they can survive some of the things that happen to them...........

beachwalker 07-11-2003 08:27 PM

Titelist

mikecc 07-11-2003 08:30 PM

Notaro

Don't know.
Damage was prior to him catching the fish and the wound started to heal . I was just amazed that the fish got away with that kind of damage.

Notaro 07-11-2003 08:49 PM

Wow, that's amazing. Are titelist sharks dangerous? How big are they compared to other kind of sharks?

Skitterpop 07-11-2003 10:04 PM

Whos is the guy who caught it?

Big fish.....nice ......amazing.....who is the guy who caught it?:walk: :walk: :walk: :walk: :walk: :walk:

Where's Mr. Hooper when you need him?

Titleist sharks are the worst--they lurk in innocuous looking water and suck down round white objects like M&Ms. On rare occasions, they even attack a Tiger.

likwid 07-11-2003 11:00 PM

HOOPAR!
get the line
HOOOPAR HURRY UP!
:p

beachwalker 07-11-2003 11:02 PM

Perfect Mike, exactly..........

But regardless of the humor, great photo and interesting bite marks.

Whadda you think ? Blue ? Brown ?

likwid 07-11-2003 11:05 PM

Porbeagle maybe
little guy

if the bass had sea lice then it could be a Blue... but it dosen't look like it

anyone have a better picture/larger picture?
could probably tell you if i could see the bite marks better

also: approximate girth of that fish
and estimated depth of bite marks

I really doubt a blue shark could do that to a bass that big
they don't exactly have huge mouths like mackerel sharks do
and the water is still a little on the cold side inshore for em.
It'd have to be one hell of a blue shark to do that to a bass like that.

Porbeagles winter here off the cape, so it could be very likely to have a few strays still around, although even that is very rare.

beachwalker 07-11-2003 11:11 PM

To me it looks like one of my chunked 5 irons.

What family of sharks would that be ?

The Normans ?

beachwalker 07-11-2003 11:23 PM

Sorry Greg........

Like I know the guy or somethin' :laughs: :laughs:

last year at my favorite spot....ON my line

Stroth 07-12-2003 02:37 PM

PETA

We should send that pic to PETA and the other groups who want to ban fishing as "cruel and unusual".

I've thought alot about fish mortality and if they actually make it after being released.

This pic sums it up. If the gills ain't bleedin' the fish is most likely livin.

Great picture and even better story. How old did you say the kid was Mike 15?

Nothing better than kids fishing :D :D :D

UserRemoved1 07-12-2003 04:04 PM

Oh I can tell ya he was livin all right, fought me to the boat all the way and quickly swam away too

Think I woulda jumped back in the boat :D

BigBo 07-12-2003 04:16 PM

do you are telling me that there is no such thing as a titelist shark?

RickBomba 07-12-2003 11:03 PM

Maybe, Maybe Norman...
Joe, you can tell them by their funny black hats.
They also make some pretty good wines these days.
They're only dangerous on the links.
Fair Dinkum!
Later,
Rick

Bernzy 07-12-2003 11:06 PM

I'd rather be driving a Titleist!!

RickBomba 07-12-2003 11:19 PM

Actually, since I missed the quote thing before here goes:
Here lies the body of Mary Lee,
Lost her life at one hundred and three.
At age fifteen she lost her virginity.
Not a bad record for this vicinity!
Anyhow,
Farewell and adieu you old Spanish ladies,
Farewell and adieu you ladies of Spain...
Ricky watch a way too much Spielberg.
Later,
Rick

likwid 07-13-2003 12:46 AM

and we thought #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& was the paint fume sniffer on the board....

The thing about a shark, it's got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes.
When it comes at you it doesn't seem to be livin'...
until he bites you, and those black eyes roll over white.

beachwalker 07-13-2003 11:36 AM

If you think my driving sucks, you should see me putt......

DaveS 07-14-2003 11:29 AM

Titleist shark aint got nuthin on the Calloway Shark, them sucka's aint no joke! Take a 15# bluefish right off your hook with one swing.

StripperSearch 07-16-2003 10:04 PM

hey #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& - that looks like a hungry seal got your fish. when fishing up in Vancouver, the boat captain told us the seals love to follow the fishing boats and bite the bellies off of fish (most tender part of the fish).

UserRemoved1 07-17-2003 05:06 AM

could have been but where it was I have NEVER seen any seals, too far south and with 75 degree water too that day

:scream: Noooooooooo!!!!! Not again, you guys are yanking my shorts again. :p

UserRemoved1 07-17-2003 02:26 PM

is there such a thing as shark eating bacteria?

Notaro 07-17-2003 02:28 PM

Then they wouldn't be able to use their teeth. They would use their tails w/ a thorn to scratch us and make us rot ourselves in the sea, SB.
