Its a diversion by the patriots to draw the attention from Deflategate, don't believe the hype! :rotf2:

Well... snow blower started and checked out, fresh gas with conditioner, shovels on the porch, plenty of salt, plow guy all set to go, generator tested and ready, oil in the tank, 2 full tanks of propane for the generator, plenty of food and drinks. I am ready. Even my body is ready to go. It's a freakin' miracle.

So now that I have gotten all that in order, just figured I would share so you all would be able to relax... because it is absolutely positive that none of it will be needed. Heck the power has only been out for two hours since I put the generator in 2++ years ago. Garanteed.... no need.

Is your doctor, or hospital associated with the Ronald McDonald house in any way? My suggestion is to ask, and then go to Boston tomorrow and see if you can stay there at least until after your appointment. People are allowed in there even though they don't have cancer. My wife takes her father to Tufts quite a bit and one appointment was late. They offered them a room.

Joe seems like your situation qualifies as an emergency.

Blower ready to go and wood stacked and at the ready. Day off isn't a bad thing either.

ThrowingTimber 01-26-2015 01:07 PM

I'm in Lincoln RI if anyone needs anything; food, water gas can or any older relatives checked up on.

We're ready here if anyone needs anyone checked up on just let me know I'll be checking in here between my rounds or just call me I help out my parents and a few older folks when we get feet instead of inches. Be safe everyone.

macojoe i hope all goes well... for you

this is shaping up to be a repeat of the storm in "78"
maybe not as deep
70 mph winds seems harsh and thunder snow

JoeG@Breezy 01-26-2015 08:18 PM

I'm ready. 50# of ice melt, 5 qts milk, lots of wine, plenty of groceries and I bought a smaller shovel so the wife won't hurt her back this time.:laughs:

macojoe 01-27-2015 01:47 AM

Thanks all!! I go to Tuff's, they called today to say they will not be in tomorrow. So I have to go on the 5th and 24th of Feb. now.
Almost there, when these two app. are done I should go on the list, then my brother can get tested, if a match we move to transplant.
Guy next to me at dialysis got a call sunday to say they had a kidney, he was wow!! 1/2 hour they called back said the donor did not look good when they opened him up so no deal. What a let down, but at least knowing that after 3 years they are watching the list!! They say hes near top now!!

crap the lights flickering now!!!!!!!!!

BEETLE 01-27-2015 05:09 AM

Thanks Raider Ron. :nailem:
Here on the banks of the Weymouth Fore River, the water is 25 ft. from my house now at high tide.

Good Luck Macojoe.

Raven 01-27-2015 06:30 AM

i can barely open my back door due to snow drift
front door is a non exit now.... dog cannot go outside
as the snow is way to deep.... i let her see for herself
and she realized "i can wait strategy" is the only choice.

Hard to tell here in west warwick some really big drifts 4' to 5' and had some bare spots, not sure of the actual totals but considering its been snowing almost 24 hrs i will agree.

spence 01-27-2015 10:26 AM

Probably around a foot here but really drifting. Bare grass on one side of the house and 3' on the other...

Snow just picked back up and is coming down hard. Looks like this afternoon will be bad.

ivanputski 01-27-2015 02:30 PM

Im just outside of hartford ct. Stopped snowing about 10 am and sun pushing through thick clouds. Forecast was 24-30" but we ended up with about 14" some bare spots, some drifts.
I have never been so happy to see 14 inches of snow since i was expecting waist deep. And power stayed on

nightfighter 01-27-2015 02:56 PM

Probably have 20-21 inches so far. Another 3-6 to come. Wind driven drifts make it hard to pin down accurately. Been watching neighbors clearing, only to see the wind fill it back in. We haven't left the house... Might head out to at least clear my drive and vehicles so as to get an early start tomorrow. Told all my customers that it would be Wednesday before I got there anyway. The wind just wont quit here on the coast.....

Guppy 01-27-2015 03:59 PM

The wind is brutal down here,,, shoveled for close to 3 hrs this afternoon and probably have another 3 to go tomorrow 😂 :smash:
If this global warming keeps up I may consider a snow blower :biglaugh:

Mr. Sandman 01-27-2015 05:00 PM

Probably 2'+ with bigger drifts out here on MV. Wind was roaring..60 at times. I don't shovel (all vehicles I own are big 4wd's)but I had to clear the furnace vents and drains, they were partially buried. Never lost power. Wood stove and pellet stove kept house 74 deg all day. I was downstairs making plugs all day. :)
This past year they replaced all the electric poles with big heavy taller poles and re-rigged the power lines so they very well supported and above all the trees. They also did a lot of heavy trimming. Everyone (except me) was complaining all summer about Nstar putting in eyesores and that they never asked the commission for permission to do that. NSTAR told the commission...we don't ask permission, we do what we want these belong to us and that pissed them off and it was back and forth all summer. I bet they are happy they didn't loose power now. (probably not actually, they are morons). My local 'hood is underground and the cable to the island is underwater so it is only the few miles that we have an issue.

Steve K 01-27-2015 06:04 PM

I always look forward to your storm reports.

tysdad115 01-27-2015 06:42 PM

If anyone near south shore - Wareham is without power let me know. I can drop my generator off . So far we're good here.
