John (Li.fish.in.Vt) could use some well wishes
 

John aka Li.Fishi.in.Vt is fighting for his life right now. He’s had many medical issues pop up in a very short period of time, the latest being an aggressive form of cancer. I’m really at a loss for words as anyone who knows John can attest to the fact that he’s an absolute freak of nature. A true athlete and salt of the earth. A great guy. So if anyone can beat this #^&#^&#^&#^& it’s him.

His family is going to post updates on this site if anyone is interested.

I linked this thread to the “Well Wishes” page on John’s site. I’m sure his family is well aware of the support from the fishing community (JohnR posted some kind words over there as well), but I thought it would be nice for his friends and others to see it firsthand.

Oh man that is awful news but knowing John’s determination and has no quit in him there is no choice but to beat this. I’m surprised to hear this, yep cancer really sucks. My thoughts are with you John wishing you the best. Thanks for posting this Bart

Just got in so sorry but he was hurting now his loved ones hurt .<.

I pounded a lot of sand with John over the last 21 years. Im really going to miss him. Part of his soul will be forever on those back beaches. positive thoughts and prayers to the family.

oh no... so sorry to see this.

Such a great guy, no nonsense and old school. Always willing to talk shop and be helpful but didn't put up with BS and had a great nose for sniffing out people asking for handouts rather than being guided to find the answer for themselves... I always really respected that about him.

whether talking plugs, BS ing at the shop or random middle of the night bump-in-tos out on the beach when he was the only other person I came across all night...I always looked forward to getting a chance to meet up.

He was always interested in and encouraging of Leah's development as a surfcaster and a ski racer.. and often asked about both. Offered to help us find deals on a place to stay and tickets at Sugarbush when she qualified for US eastern champs last year before they got covid-cancelled. thats the kind of guy he was

and man, those DARTERS........

will miss not texting/messaging/seeing him out there...wont be the same
