Update on Jeanne
She was released this AM and is home resting. Lot of residuals from the extreme dehydration. Fluid around the heart is dissapating as she is on heart meds.
Big thing is the pain in her legs is diminishing and she can walk. She is much more lucid and with it. She will ultimately be OK but it will be a marathon not a sprint. Thanks for the support and offers of help. You guys are the best. |
Nice to hear the good report. Best to you both.
|
Glad to hear Paul, this weather will wreak havoc on your body if your not careful, today was so nice after so much of the same crap.

She's back in the ER. Called rescue at Noon. She may have had a stroke or a TIA.
I am headed back to Fatima Hospital in a bit. |
Call if you need something.

#^&#^&#^&#^& Paul. Thoughts and prayers for Jeanne
|
I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope everything turns out for the best
|
Most recent and reliable report I have is it was not a stroke, but rather very low electrolytes. A different hospital seems to have a better grasp of what her needs are.... So I took that as a positive development.

Docs told me that her sodium and potassium livels were so low they were shocked that she was still conscious. |

Good news! One would think our health care system would be getting better, but that is NOT our own experience from issues we have experienced in missed or erroneous diagnosis.

Hope she is doing well and improving, Paul

One more on the way too long lists of misdiagnoses I am all to familiar with. Not for nothing, but sometimes I think over a certain perceived age / state of health and just maybe they don't seem to care or put in the time needed.

Diagnosis
My wife has been a RN in the emergency room of our local hospital for over 40 years. In that time I have met many doctors. For some reason because they have the letters MD behind their name we the public tend to believe that they are infallible I assure you they are not! They pass boards to become an MD and if they have a good memory they can pass with the correct answers. This however does not guarantee that their ability to use diagnostic science is up to par! Some are great, some are good, some just plain suck! As is the case with many other professions! Believe your own intuition.
