The Gaslighting on Covid-19 to shift the blame for inaction
 

Trump* ended his press conference today by saying no offer was made to the U.S. to have the WHO-certified test, says any such news of that is fake, and then adds that the WHO test -- the GOLD STANDARD TEST FOR COVID-19 is a "bad test."

This is straight-up gaslighting propaganda. Not a bit of what he said is true.

Fact Number One: The U.S. DID reject the WHO-certified test

On Saturday Jan. 11 — a month and a half before the first Covid-19 case not linked to travel was diagnosed in the United States — Chinese scientists posted the genome of the virus, and within a week virologists in Berlin had produced the first test for the disease.

By the end of February, the World Health Organization had shipped tests to nearly 60 countries.

The United States was not among them.

Fact Number Two: The "bad test" was not the test produced by the German company that pioneered it, but rather the CDC test. THAT is the one that failed, miserably...

Trump* cares only about pushing responsibility away from himself; to make sure the buck does not stop with him. It is shameful. He is in charge and this mess is HIS responsibility. That's the job of a president. To LEAD, not to make excuses.

Trump lying to the American public, that can't possibly be right, he has been nothing but truthful during his entire term; said absolutely nobody with a brain.
