LAST CALL. I'll let you change your answer til 6pm.

PRBuzz 10-30-2011 04:14 PM

1000 in '87.

Fishbones has to be automatically out with his guess of 1982!:rotf2: Specified between '85-'95

UserRemoved1 10-30-2011 05:57 PM

The answer is 74,755 in 10 years and the biggest year they had was 1988.

I have an original dealer pricelist and prospectus from when he sold the company.

Vineyardbloos I believe is the winner.

Send me your address oh great one.

Salty, you didn't factor in returns. Over those 10 years they had 63,206 plugs returned so my guess of 11,549 is right on :)

On a serious note, do you know many plugs they sold in 1988?

Did you really think I was serious?

UserRemoved 10-31-2011 09:47 AM

Yea I'll look later he had it all done up by model per year so I can even tell you how many of each model were out there.

Alot of typing though

Wow , never one nut-in before, Thanks
I do know a little history on these tho.... his first lures were made from broken hockey sticks back in the day , so look for flat sided capt Andy plugs , Is he still hanging out at the post office in Orleans or ?
Scott , I sent you a e-mail with addy , can you send copies of your find ? I am a collector :)

Thanks

No one I know of , Collects them but me and that gumpy old wise one who walks funny :jump1:

Most of his plugs were used from boats Not shore, they were good back in the day (when the cape had striped bass).... I am 90% sure someone now owns the company because I found some on the vineyard for 15 plus dollars and I think the had a silver "eye" ? :fishin:

stripermaineiac 11-03-2011 06:24 PM

LOL I'll have to see how many of these I have in my stash Peter. They're great eelskin plugs.Ron

Pete F. 11-03-2011 08:14 PM

I think that lip worked for every kind of plug they made.

UserRemoved1 11-03-2011 09:11 PM

peter I'll let you look at it. There's a complete history written by him as part of this too. It does mention hockey sticks :hee:

capesams 11-03-2011 09:21 PM

Capt'n Andy sure was an old sly coot....many stories of his deeds most of which can't be put into print[lets say he lived lively]..He did however have one trick that could be told....before he picked up his paying guests to take them fishing, he'd head to the chatham airport where he'd take off and head for north beach..down the outside he'd go till he spotted a school of bass, marked the spot an headed back to pick up his paying guests and head for the beach, taking them to the spot where the school was...they caught fish and thought he was god, knowing just where the fish would be....

I do have every style and color he did but one...the small white popper...I've hunted fo years and still havn't found one.....the collection all signed but the one I'm missing.
