Anyone recognize this logo?
 

Spending time on the Cape keeping my father on schedule for his chemo treatments and cleaning out my grandparents' house, where some squatters trashed it then left owing 6 months rent. They could have paid if they laid off the Fireball (in the pic I moved a couch to find 30+ empty pints behind it and that's after the other 50 or so I found hidden here and there). But anyway, I came across a big crock my grandparents had covered up in a corner of the basement. It has a logo on it we can't identify. I don't know if it's especially old or what, but it's pretty cool looking. Wish I had the lid, too. Anyone ever see a logo like this? Does it mean anything or just an artist's touch?

Just an artist touch but pickling or fermentation stoneware crocks are collected by many so it has value.

My grandmother use to pickle macs or river herring in one of those, wooden cover that fit inside with a brick on it......

Seen something similar in antiques roadshow be gentle with it

I find more and more, as I find more and more in my grandparents' house and that being extremely careful is a given. Unfortunately, my father and his sister are at odds with each other making the settling of the estate of their mother extremely difficult. Things that were here at one time have all but disappeared and no one knows where they went. I think, unfortunately both are losing it a bit and honestly don't remember what they've secreted away and thus find it easy to point fingers at the other. My aunt had a bunch of stuff on a table saying it was worthless and to "take whatever you want or I'm going to donate it somewhere." Having been close to my grandparents and a good listener in my youth (a child of the "...should be seen and not heard" generation) I noticed a simple lamp with a slight iridescence to its finish. "Oh, this is cool, my wife loves this style", I lied. I turned it over and in no time found the signature "LCT" initials an antique appraiser had pointed out a number of years ago on a similar one given to my father by his parents, followed by an offer of $15K to take it off his hands. "LCT" stands for Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of Tiffany's founder who designed, among other things, lamps. Dear Auntie was just going to toss it.

No Idea its worth, age, etc. but it brings back a lot of great memories of my mothers fermented pickles & saurekraut. It could have come from my fathers side family farm, maybe polish? Just a guess here...but either way I would keep and use to lacto ferment in if no cracks. Great piece!
