1089 rainshadow

what do you guys think of this rod for eels and swimming plugs 2-3.5 oz.is this rod fine or to stiff. it defentily has backbone. or would the 1088 be a better choose.thanks

I found the All Star 1208 to be too stiff for eels, with braid. Too many torn mouths.

Next year I want to see if it does better with 20# mono.

The All Star is supposed to be identical to the Batson SU 1208. If you have the SU 1209, it's definitely too stiff for eels---it's too stiff, really, for 3-1/2 oz plugs.

Eel rod=Lami 1213M..Hands down. Nearly indestructable(Glass)
Slings eels nice and no lip ripping.

yeh mike i knew it was to stiff but the builder had it rated 1-4 and the 1208 1-3. they both seemed very under rated.I might go for the 1208 since I only fish mono.
