With a break in the weather I was able to get a coat of timber oil on two bird houses I made from pieces of the choke cherry we lost in that first nor'easter. Hung them this morning with the bottoms with a good bed of saw dust and shavings and sparrows are already using them. The Carolina Wrens are loud and doing their thing, we had about 50 robins this week bathing in the bird bath and picking every last berry off the hollies and spruce trees........its coming.

Listen, the weirdest thing I have seen all winter is a flock of Eastern Bluebirds at our feeders last week. They are usually long gone.

Thinking garden!

We had a bumper tomato crop, and healthy plants from QVC last year. Last night the insomniac in my house saw the Roberta's Beefsteak come on the screen and ordered two,

Shipped as: six plants in 45ml pots: three each of Mountain Man and Carolina Gold
They will ship sometime in May, for Massachusetts.

Also noticed the Witch Hazel tree had bloomed in one of my snowbird client's yard. Always a sign it can't be far off.
