3 Stooges movie in 2010 ???

Is it possible to do anything that will pay tribute to the longest running comedy show EVER.....????

I doubt it, but I will go anyway.

Apparently its not a documentary but kind of an actual movie with them as characters. I think its G. Clooney as Moe, J. Carry as Larry, and I'm not sure about Curly.

What do you think?

The Dad Fisherman 12-16-2009 09:13 AM

Actually Jim Carey is Curley, Benicio Del Toro as Moe and Paul Giammatti as Larry.

It is the Farrelli Brothers doing it so It might be funny....but I just don't see it working

HighTide 12-16-2009 09:20 AM

I heard about this a few months ago, but couldn't remeber who is playing who so I checked it out on IMDB.

Benicio del Toro is playing Moe and Paul Giamatti is Larry. No listing for Curly though I think it mat be Jim Carrey.

Beat me to it TDF

Slingah 12-16-2009 09:32 AM

that is going to be a tough trio to imitate.....
If it gets great revues, I'll go see it....if not I'll still rent it...
The Stooges helped me be the person I am today.....:jump1:

Ummmm....gonna have to take a big PASS on that one! You just can't do the Stooges a service no matter what you do! Its like Classic Coke and that syrup water they tried to replace it with!!!!

You must not be watching much TV then......Its been sponsoring the Fox NFL games the past two weekends...

They even released an Extended trailer that was simultaneosly played on TV and the Jumbo-tron at Dallas during the Thanksgiving game.

They had a special on the Making of it on TV last week

Its also been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Picture.

BigFish 12-16-2009 12:41 PM

Love the stooges and watch them when I can still. I would watch this if it comes out.

I'm with you Larry. Anyone who thinks that the Stooges can be re-made need only look at the last of the originals with Joe Besser.:yak6:

And those still had Moe and Larry.

What's next--remaking the Marx Brothers with Billy Crystal as Groucho?

Yeah, that's not quite what I was expecting.

mosholu 12-09-2011 12:37 AM

The sad thing is that the remake will keep people who did not see the originals from checking them out.

RIJIMMY 12-09-2011 11:14 AM

gulp....I actually thought it looked funny.....

Me too. And the actors look much more like the original Stooges than I expected.

Jackbass 03-13-2012 03:42 PM

It looks pretty damn good. The Farelly's from what I understand did not want to tweak the original characters and kept it as close to authentic as possible. The guy playing curly is a good friend of a buddy of mines. He used to be on MadTV. He seems like he does a good job with it.
