I know it is not new but it is surging in popularity. The saison du buff is absolutely outstanding from dogfishhead/stone/victory. Got a baby keg of Saison du brett from boulevard this weekend which was equally impressive.

As its popularity is growing, so is the style. I used to drink a few 5 years ago and walked away because they were kinda "blah" (at least in the states) but now that they are catching on I think breweries are investing more time in their recipes and fermentation. I had a few at the Mohegan brew fest this past weekend that were remarkable. (This coming from a die hard IPA guy)

I prefer IPA also but welcome the change. Anything but this pumpkin syrup people think passes for beer.

I like Saison Dupont.. mmmm.

If you like saison seek out le Fantôme.
