S-B action pistol shoot is on! May 7 2017 @ 10:00 AM

I've been asked by a few to set up an "S-B range day" so lets do it.

Our format for pistol will be IDPA style. A few of my fellow safety officers and I will set up stages for all of us to shoot. If you don't know about IDPA rules don't worry about it. We'll have a fun day. New shooters welcome, everyone will be under the direct supervision of certified safety officers.

If you're interested post here. Our club is Old Colony Sportsman's Assn on Forest St. in Pembroke,MA. We have 5 "action pistol" pits and will build stages accordingly.

Possible dates are Sunday 4/30 , Sunday 5/7 or Saturday 5/27. Lets pick a date and make this happen. We will be using club targets and stands etc, so there will e a $15.00 per person charge to cover the cost of targets. I will provide firearms, holsters and ammunition as needed.

NOTE- Some who have asked do not live in the restrictive state of MA , please do not post any info here regarding transporting firearms or magazine capacity. PM me or call me you never know who's watching...:eyes:

Well the 6th is possible too..For now I'm gauging interest from those that requested it. We either get it done before fishing season starts or wait until fall..But then school sports make schedules tighter..Oh and there's this thing about casting to tuna.. Yeah, fall is out.

I want to say I'm in however, the baseball schedule has not come out yet. If the stars align properly we will be playing on the Cape the weekend of the shoot. This sounds like a blast, thanks for setting this up Andy. Despite popular belief....you really are a nice guy!

You know I'll be there whenever it is.
Thanks Andy :btu:
looking forward to it:nailem:

I'd be in for sure. Any age limit? 7 and 9 ok? They're BB gun trained so far.

I'd have to run that by the chief SO. I started Ty at 13. I'd be happy to have them shoot a few of Ty's 22lr rifles. They are dead on out to 200 yds.

Definitely in.

Will PM on lawful transport :ss:

(Nope, can't bring that one. Huh - that one is out. Nope, no good.)

Will bring Mass Compliant SlingShot - see photo

tysdad115 04-03-2017 09:16 PM

Anyone concerned with transport is welcome to use any of my equipment.
As a general equipment list you'd need a strong side holster and a double mag carrier. Idpa rules have you start at division capacity ,with the most being 10+1 . So a standard cap mag could only be loaded to 10 anyways.

Ok we are on for May 7 2017. We will be shooting at Old Colony Sportsman's Club 159 Forest St. Pembroke, MA 02359 , first shots are at 10:00 AM.

I will be holding a mandatory safety briefing at 9:30 AM if you can not make the briefing you can not shoot, no exceptions. I will set up a few stages Saturday so we are ready to go.

When you arrive at Old Colony park in the lot, to get to the IDPA pits you'll have to walk through the white gate at end of clubhouse, pass by the rifle/pistol pits and walk around the short road to get out back. You'll see the blinking light and signage to the action pistol pits.

Our club has breakfast available if you get there early, please PM me or call me with any questions. If you don't have my number I'll give it to you.

Please have appropriate eye/ear protection. If needed I will provide firearms and ammunition. I do believe a few other safety officers may be helping out , we welcome you to come down and have some fun.

If anyone wants I can bring a few rifles or if you have something you want to shoot we can hit the rifle range afterwards.

JohnR 04-10-2017 07:52 PM

tysdad115 04-16-2017 12:16 PM
