Got any "salty wisdom" sayings ?

When I go to the "country stores" around Massachusetts, I've noticed a couple small paperback books in with the "Salem witches" and "indian lore" type books. Have any "salty wisdom" of your own that you can share.

I like this one: "The wind blows" and have said that to myself at least 26,000,000 times.

"Captain hard-aground is switchin' meals today...apparently he's into T-bones now." One of the past Harbormaster's comments on a local guy that always had "trouble" navigating the Harbor, in response to the guy ramming another boat.

A real hard core fisherman told me once that if I didn't want line twist just turn the bail over by hand.I've been following his advice ever since then.He had salty wisdom.

You ask...Should I buy a boat?

answer...'If you can go home and pull a $100 bill out , and flush it down the toilet, and if that doesn't bother you, then go ahead and buy a boat.'

ThrowingTimber 02-19-2006 04:49 PM
