Bait thieves

This is my Monday morning grumpage... I hate thieves...any and all of them.. but fisherman that steal from other fisherman are Low life scum...Last Thursday night my and several other eel cars on our docks were hit by thieves... not only did they empty the keeper.. the neglected to put the cover back on and it is missing ( I use olive jugs with screw on covers).. one of the Gents put his covers on and tie traps them.. his reward.. they took the whole keeper... a game camera is hidden near by now should the varmints come back!..:eyes:

thieves sure do suck

sorry to hear that Joe
I hope you find out who

Remember that when you catch them, and dole out your punishment, that if no one sees it then it didn't happen!

"No, officer, I don't know who they were or how they ended up in that condition! Maybe they slipped and fell down a couple flights of stairs and landed on a rock pile studded with rusty nails....but that's just a guess."

A bunch of trebles or razor blades in the haul line will cure them.... Never know what hit them until its too late.

Happened about 10 years ago when I fished with "he who cannot be mentioned". We lost over 100 eels in 2 nights until we decided to keep watch.
It stopped immediately after we caught one of the "POS".

I,m catching more bass size eels as by catch this year than I have in the last 6 or 7 .
all released , not gonna feed them to bluefish & I only target large bass for less than 3 weeks a year >>>>> so I think they have that figured out ....get trapped eat all the bait & then get set free .....these snakes arn,t dumb :humpty:

Up date...

Smile you are on candid camera... my bridge cam caught the bandit coming back for a second round... I had a feeling I knew who it was... The EPO's were given the Sd card... they confronted the thief and he fessed up... he paid for the stolen bait and his dealers license ( also a commercial eel )trapper was revoked for 30 days.....I'm happy no one had to get hurt...

30 days during the heat of summer is like having a pro sports figure serve a suspension during the off season or all-star break.

Now this POS will be looking for the cameras to steal as well as bait!
