Thanks guys!!!

It was a long day with everything working against us, we stayed focused and didn't let all the negitive things that were happening bum us out. We saw a Blue Dog cruising about 75 yards east of us and 15 minutes later we got the hit with the rods facing west. At first we thought it was a Blue Dog, once it stopped pealing drag we moved the rod from the stern to "battle stations" in the bow. You could feel the power of the tuna moving the 130 to the front of the boat.
Since it was a money fish for Jason, I wanted the helm. I have no experience with reeling in a giant tuna and I knew I could run the boat. Team work and good communication got the fish to the boat.

Jason has a friend editing the video, we had two Go Pro's going, can't wait to see the finish product!

I've always wanted this type of experience, I feel I'm lucky meeting some great guys from this site!! Its great that people share their knowledge and experiences. I owe a lot to PRBuzz for all of the tuna fishing experience he has given to me. Thanks to all the guys pointing me in the right direction!!!

The tuna is on a plane heading to Japan!!!

Any issues with the block and tackle mounted on the T-top? We're also in a 23' Seacraft and have pulled a couple through the transom next to the motor but figured we'll be towing anything over 300 lbs.

Nice job, Mike! I was just talking about you the other day saying I hadn't seen you all summer and I figured you must be out chasing tuna. Looks like I was right.

We tied a rope off to the opposite side of the chain fall down to a cleat beside the console. We plan on using a ratchet strap next time. We noticed that if the sling was shorter, the tuna would have gone higher. Possibly making it easier to swing the tail over the side. Food for thought.

If I had better shoes on, I would have been more help pulling the tuna over the rail.

Thanks everyone!!!

Can't wait for the next one!!!
