my younger brother just got into bow hunting this year. He's never shot a deer ever. Yesterday he got his first. I wonder if he drank the blood like they did in that movie red dawn.
It was a small deer about 160 lbs. maybe 2 years old, antlers were tiny 4 points but he got it. shot the arrow all the way thru, ran 30 yds bled out. he still can't find the arrow.

Holy crap, are sure that is not you? You guys look like twins. Is he the photographer? If he is I have a guess where he might be hunting.

NIce job. I have seen deer only 3 times out, and not close enough to shoot with the bow. I shot the sluggun today, patterned very nice with 2 3/4 accutips out at 100 yds

SurfCaster413 11-21-2010 09:12 PM

I havent done crap for scouting but gonna give it a go next monday see what I can come up with.

keeperreaper 11-23-2010 08:49 AM

The woods by the gun club/ M & M trail always holds a few nice deer.

I double lunged this guy at 810 am, ran 60 yards and piled up. Thanks to Canalratt for helping with the recovery. This is the first time I have ever had back to back years with a deer, and 2 8 points at that, I am pumped. :jump1:

nightfighter 11-25-2010 01:13 PM

It's funny but my heart was pounding when I heard it coming. Then when I finally saw it, I told myself to calm it down, and make a good shot. So I took a couple of deep breaths and tracked him with the bow fully drawn . Then it was like watching a hunting show. The arrow did not pass all the way through, but was sticking out of both sides, and both sides broke of leaving about 5" inside him. He actually dropped close to where we park our trucks so it was a short drag. I am psyched and still pumped.

O.D. Mike 11-26-2010 10:47 AM

Congrats!!! Great job controling the fever!!!

TheSpecialist 11-28-2010 04:54 PM

Thank you. You been out over there at all?

I saw a couple of guys heading up the driveway by the cranberry bogs yesterday morning.

O.D. Mike 11-29-2010 09:53 PM

Made it out this afternoon and got busted, heard him stepping through the swamp, plop, plop, plop, then he grunted, winded me and took off!

Hunting, got to love it...

TheSpecialist 12-03-2010 06:27 PM

Word is there were 6 cars in his driveway on opening day, he back to letting a %$%$%$%$load hunt there?

TheSpecialist 12-04-2010 06:23 PM

Our group took another 8 out of there this morning. There was some shooting from down the mill way.
