changeing guides
 
i have a allstar 1088 spinning that has smallish guides on it for braid.i want to change the first 3 to larger ones for mono.how big a job is this?what size first guide should i use?the reel will be a penn 704. thank you

not an expert. but i think thats gunna be line twist central. ive got the same blank with pretty big guides, same reel, and it sucked.

I like the high frame 40 on 9', keeps it a bit lighter but if you have to use the 704 go with a 50. If you know the basic's on wrappin its no biggie to do.

Should be fairly easy as the footprint of the new guides is bigger than the old so everything gets covered up. You can make it look like new if you are careful.

I think I'd also go with the 40 HH BHVLG then to a 30 BSVLG then down to whatever the old guides are that you are keeping
