Lures

I'm mostly an inshore guy but a few times a year we venture further in hopes for some schoolie tuna. What is a modestly price lure suggestion? I'm not spending $800 for a Melton kit. Any one use the Grand Slam Lures 10 pack? I like to have color choices. Also looking at the Williamson Jet heads sold individually. Thanks and don't beat up the newbie

For tuna you'd be wise to buy a few spreader bars. Bigger presentation and reasonably cheap and easy to use. For lures, xrap deep divers are 20 bucks and are strong producers as well. Just change out the hooks to single j on back and lose the belly hook. Pintails work great slow trolled. For 400 bucks you can be in the game and have a really sweet spread.

If you run south off of Rhody down size bars to 9" inch model, and green machines, jap feathers and cedar plugs should be added.

Learn to rig ballyhoo properly. They are deadly.
