Books?

Hey guys,
Hope you can help. What books would I want to buy to help learn about vintage lures and important makers, both living and deceased? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

neither one of you said which ..as in fresh or saltwater...tons of books on fresh and very little in salt..the only place you'll get great info on saltwater baits and who made what is if you go on ...swlcc..saltwater lure collectors club and become a paid member which will open a world of full info...well worth joining.

I'd start with freshwater--plugging gear is a largemouth invention. James Heddon comes to my mind. I'm no expert but a history of the plug began down south in the swamps. 1930s or so.

Aram, Google the words Surf Plugology, you will find a great article about the history of wooden saltwater lures, it's a good starting point.

Look up shoreline bait and tackle, great vintage plug website, looks of pics and info. I'll post the link later.
