basswipe 12-19-2010 06:38 AM

Let's hope its good, everybody involved have some huge shoes to fill.

Hard for me to see anyone else other than Wayne playing Rooster Cogburn.Hell its almost hard to see any other cat "playing" General Sterling Price!

SurfCaster413 12-20-2010 12:23 AM

The Dad Fisherman 12-31-2010 05:19 PM

Just went and saw this today with my daughter...outstanding effort. Really enjoyed it and Jeff Bridges did a great job as Rooster.

You sucked out on the field of play, kid. But you made an outstanding effort. :smash:

TDF - is that what you mean?

I want to go see this as I have a rare chance to see this story for the first time. Having not seen the original (sober) in any way I can remember it.

Saw it with the family unit tonight - Great, great job. Especially if you like Western's done right. Also thought it was much better than the original, which comes off a little campy. This new version had the right amount of darkness to it.

"I couldn't do nothin for you son...."

Nah...Just meant it was a great movie. really Enjoyed it. Coen Bros did it up right. and it did have that Classic Western feel to it too.

Bart I agree I was totally let down.

GregW 06-23-2011 07:21 PM

I saw it about two weeks ago. I enjoyed it.
Hoping to see the original in the near future.

Stewie 06-24-2011 08:32 AM

When they redo Casablanca, who will play Humphrey Bogart? Why can't Hollywood come up with it's own ideas anymore? I don't think I'll see this one, even if the Coens made it.

Thats just Blasphemy right there.....I agree, enough with the remakes.

I did enjoy the Remake of True Grit....did it need to be done....probably not

I just found out they are Remaking Ben Hur....Are you kidding me. :wall:

Saltheart 06-25-2011 07:42 PM

Yeah the remakes are a cheesy way for hollywood to make some easy money. Some , like true grit , are classics that should not have been redone. Maybe some of the space alien stuff where technology has changed animation so much but for just regular movies of in the flesh actors they should leave the classics alone and come up with their own ideas for new stories.

JohnnySaxatilis 06-26-2011 12:01 AM

eventually they'll just run out of movies to remake. just like the comic book movies. they're goin with green lantern type comics these days. gimme a break
