Term Limits

I’d bet that if we had term limits currently, there would be GOP members speaking out against Trump over this fing wall fight, but since they are more concerned about getting re-elected in 2020 and keeping their cushy benefits, they bite their lips and swallow any sense of right or wrong they had left.

The “crisis” imho is not at the southern border it’s sitting in the Oval Office. Defenders keep flying the flag, the means justify the ends, I wonder if this is how his base lead their lives and teach their children? It’s ok to tell lie after lie thru your teeth if you get what you want.

Any reason to achieve term limits would be a help to this country. I am not sure this administration has provided more impetus than the previous administration to get it done but it’s a great concept nonetheless. Funny how a president can shut down a government to get plans pushed through without consequences from his base isn’t it? When was the last time this happened?....

Just another example of Trump winning
- lost midterms by 3 million
- lost 10 cabinet members
- lost 65 executive staff
- 18% increase in US trade deficit
- Since Feb 1st DOW down 3,000
($3 trillion in value)
- exploded deficit to $779 billion
- 44 campaign rallies
- 67 golf club visits
- lost 40 house seats

I don't view term limits as the problem. I view $ as the problem - the need to raise $ and the desire to make it after they quit public services.

Not having term limits is a huge problem. What it does is allow to have a fat bloated tick sitting in the senate or Congress that has plenty of time to develop relationships with lobbyists that are both domestic and foreign. The fatter the tick becomes the more corrupt they become.

If it were up to me, I’d give them a 2 term max limit and would also bar anyone from becoming a lobbyist after they leave office.
I’d also completely remove all campaign donations to something like $200 per person max and illuminate PAC’s and the ability to take in dark money to feed your campaign.

And while I’m at it, I’d link a congressional or senate pay rate to the approval rating.

And then... I’d make it manditory that any direct male relatives of congress or senate be made to fight on any front lines of any war or military engagements.

term limits = good. otherwise people are too concerned with getting re-elected rather than doing what’s right, and sometimes those are opposing objectives.
