you guy's are slipping

Anytime a noteworthy fish is caught you guy's are all over it... a 64lb bass gets weighed in form Buzzards bay and there is no mention....:sleeps:

Slipknot 05-18-2017 11:42 AM

We already know
Phone calls, texts, friends showing pictures, Facebook
You name it

Good for that guy
A fish of a lifetime

Perhaps because the guy was using light tackle, overstressed the fish to where it could not survive release. I am pretty sure if the fish lived and swam away it would be all over here. Folks here don't post here about actually catching fish lately... Its all political rants, a few posts about squid, or buy my left over stuff.... No mention as to how GREAT the tog are biting or the fluke starting to get good. We are all so worried about "tipping #^&#^&#^&#^& the internet about fish, that we are letting this site slowly die. It is sad that the HBD messages far outnumber the actual posts of our great sport.....

Maybe guys here are of the caliber that they know when to keep quiet... if that is the case, it is a reassuring thought that I am on the right forum.

Hard to figure why anyone would be using anything but light tackle in the middle of May. Nice one

Wow.... friendly needling meets smart XXX remarks... OK I've been schooled....but for the record... 30 lb braid is not light tackle...if you think it is..you have ALOT to learn...well you all have a great season...I know I will...nothing left to say here...

nightfighter 05-18-2017 01:21 PM

Hi Joe!

FyshhTrap 05-18-2017 01:34 PM

I use #30 when I'm using small lures for smaller fish, certainly not when I know the avg. fish in the area is 25,30 plus lbs.
My go-to spring set up #40 braid, #40 leader

MAKAI 05-18-2017 01:38 PM

30# braid isn't light tackle, tie it off on something, lock down your drag and see if you can break your rod.

LIght tackle because its only May ????...........all you have to do is take a R&R check right now & except for the schoolie guys . everyone in Narr Bay are fishing with heavy ammo ><><:fishin:

JohnR 05-18-2017 02:59 PM

Light tackle middle of may is a little different south of the elbow than north of the northern Cape.

Lots of light tackle and some medium going on down here - up there nossomuch

Hi Joe :uhuh:

No one will school you Joe. What you forgot they will never know.

BTW, there are some nice fish being taken all over. Just some of us don't post about it anymore.

Guppy 05-18-2017 04:41 PM

Wow! 64 #
I hope it was someone who puts a lot of time in...

This explains the full lots in striking distance to Buz bay
I'm going to ship some macs there tomorrow morn looking for a 65#

As for what's going on around here, small fish so thick you could walk on them,,, great to see for sure

M-80,s are working ><><>

bloocrab 05-18-2017 08:16 PM

I just read some interesting comments on another site about this catch....................why can't people just be happy for this guy who caught a fish of life-time,?? he stated that he tried to revive it, but when that failed, he kept it..

Sea Dangles 05-18-2017 08:50 PM

It sure is a shame Joe thought that was a swipe at him. My response was more to Cool Beans perspective, my flame days are in the past 👹

In other words, great catch ESPECIALLY with May tackle!!!

I do not fault the angler one bit for being under gunned. To my knowledge there were not really reports of large fish in that area. I kept hearing schoolies with a few 20 lb. fish mixed in. If I were fishing I would have brought my 8' light tackle rod. It's unfortunate, but I also appreciate the anglers honesty.

Ed B 05-19-2017 11:20 AM

I'm not sure what we're arguing about here but count me in :buds: .

Congrats to anyone who caught a 64 lber though!!

piemma 05-19-2017 12:27 PM

There is a scattering of medium 30-35# fish moving but not a lot. I was on the water for 5 hours this AM. 6 fish all 30 to 32" livelining pogies. If there were an abundance of larger fish around, I would have picked up at least one.

Better tides next week with a new moon. That'll bring the big girls cause there's lots of food around.
