What I wish my vote would be for

To defend the police, to keep convicted felons in prison.
To fight against pedophilia and human trafficking. To keep illegal immigrants out of our system. To defend the Constitution of the United States of America and keep our constitutional freedoms. For capitalism.
To keep America strong. To work against communism. For the welfare of America and ALL Americans.

Are these the candidates that can produce this? I think not. But I can wish and hold on to these goals for our country.

Have at it. The days after the election are what concern me as well. Violence could be forthcoming from either side's extremists. Either way, in the early months of 2021, I can only hope that the American people can figure a better way to draft some better qualified candidates...

335 million people in this country, and this is the best we could come up with, sad.

My vote will be for clean air and water, protection of public lands for the people and from corporate greed; health care protections for people with preexisting conditions; a tax code that is less succeptible to manipulation by millionaires and corporations at the expense of the guy making 50k a year working his tail off; a return to the dark side of their rocks for the bigots and racists who have been emboldened by the fascist in chief. Be nice if he was a few years younger, but Joe Biden is an honorable and decent guy and will make a good president. Trump 20-2-life in Sing Sing.

I vote for surviving the next 4 years. Did not vote for Trump last time but I probably will today. Not voting for Dems in major races, just some down ballot.

I will not support for Progressive / Socialists nor racists and the Klan.

"With malice toward none, with charity for all" go vote and afterward, love your neighbors, friends, and family.

trump doubled the standard deduction, and expanded child tax credits. so that guy making 50k a year, especially if he has kids, got a nice tax cut. i’m sorry, but that’s what happened. ask a cpa.

Well, I have never heard a President threaten the American people with violence in their city/cities through veiled threats the night before an election. To say his "armies" of supporters are being sent out to polls across the country as his eyes is nothing more than intimidation. The man disgusts me. As much as I agree with a majority of what used to be the Republican agenda, at least before Trump, he does not deserve to be the one who will effect these programs for America.

Obama-" They’re going to try to scare people. They’re going to try to say that ‘that Obama is a scary guy.’ If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl."

just sayin'

Voting for a better tomorrow. Go Jo Jorgensen ... who? I don't know either, just hoping for a strong 3rd party someday.

I was just busting your chops being in the people's republic. The Republican votes in Wyoming count the most, so maybe it evens out?

Doesn't the tax cut for people making less than 75k sunset while the cuts above that stay inforce?

Right with ya Boss Man . I wrote in Ronald Reagan last time, not that anyone would get my point, the Dems. Wasted 4 years of this present term and did absolutely nothing to help our country ,but instead chose to make the path as difficult as possible rather than lead by example, had they done a good job in the preceding 8 years, old yellow head would not have made it into office, I could never in good conscience vote for any of them..hopefully, both sides get their act together and work as one to fix our broken nation
No matter who wins.

Taxes for everyone but the super rich are set to phase out over the next six or seven years. It was an accounting trick to get the giant tax cuts for business and the wealthy through.

I honesty don't know, I've never heard that before, and that would be a terrible thing to do if true.

can you post a link to that?

The way tax cuts pass now, because votes tend to be partisan, theres some legislative gimmick that usually requires an expiration date, but they usually get renewed as no one wants their name of a big tax hike. So I wouldn't be shocked if the entire plan had an expiration date, but it's very shady (and unlikely) to allow high income earners to be exempt from an expiration date.

zimmy 11-03-2020 10:53 AM

Average federal taxes paid over past 4 years by a person with a 50k salary is 40k. Taxes paid by a self proclaimed "billionaire," $750. At same time debt grew by 36% it assuring the next gen of 50k class people will be hammered even more. Not that it is apparent that the thread was started to argue whether a person's priorities are what some numbskull thinks they should be.

Tax cuts for business was the most important part of the tax cut. Getting a competitive market place in which business doesn't go elsewhere because of tax rates is what was, as planned, attracting business to come here or stay here. More people working was the main purpose. But lowering business taxes is usually demonized by the left as tax cuts for the rich.

I don't know of any Trump supporter who thinks by "armies" of supporters he was threatening violence. I take it to mean that they would try to spot fraud and report it, not beat people up if they were cheating.

It's interesting that he was able to achieve the Republican agenda more successfully than any Republican since Reagan, yet he does not deserve to be the one who did it.

I find that very difficult to believe. Can you back that up with some links or articles?

I figured (hoped) you were but to me the vote always counts, even when it counts less.

I think RI will be closer to T this time but will still go Biden. But this is a Protest vote against the national Dem party.

I wrote in McMullen (what a waste that turned out to be) but in hindsight, I should written in Reagan ; ) . This time I think we need to run the clock. What I Hail Mary: Trump wins, then on Jan 20+ 1 week he decides to retire. What I will settle for, we make it through the next 4 years with no party controlling all three elected levers and have a Centrist that can bring both sides in together.

Neither side is capable of this right now.

This ^^^ .

wdmso 11-03-2020 01:43 PM

The way I see it the last 4 years some people took a chance on Trump. And no one could fault them for that.

However to vote him back in office you own him all 100% of the good and the bad .. there is no more I voted for him for x or y. You own A-Z . And a re elected Tump will be emboldened and America will be unrecognizable after he punishes those people and states who voted against him... my issues with Trump since day 1 has been Trump himself ,, he's a rino a puppet because none of his ideas are his own , and his next installment of cabinets officials will be comical and given rubber stamps and knee pads.. can't see an upside if he's re elected .

And Trump supporters haven't provided an upside either .. other than new flags and liberal tears some great policy ideas

But well see.. Ps some of us are going to owe John some money when this is done.. me included ..
