100 days and the tuna will be here

I'm starting to get the itch ..... Cod fishing in 45 days and the tuna right after that. Who else is getting antsy?

Moses 02-27-2010 07:39 AM

I was fine until two weeks ago now I have 'the fever' bad!

How many times can one organize and re-organize tackle, practice new knots & splicing, check & re-check reels......

Bronko 02-27-2010 08:23 AM

Same here Mike. I made it from November until this week without really jonesing. But a switch flipped a few days ago. I am ready.:soon:

RIROCKHOUND 02-27-2010 11:08 AM

kippy 02-27-2010 01:37 PM

Ordered a couple bars today from FO. I'm ready!:uhuh:

clcharette 02-27-2010 03:06 PM

I need to check the braid on all my bottom fishing reels, some look discolored. Has anyone ever tried flipping the line so the top is on the bottom and the bottom is on top? If not, I'll just cut back the line that looks weathered.

Hopefully your motor doesn't have an attitude this year Matt.

striperman36 02-27-2010 04:16 PM

Seriously goin to make an effort to get out after work at least 1 day a week. I hate it when I can see the bay and not be on it.

Only had that air bubble the first day after I replaced the fuel tank after that it was like a top. Hopefully you use your boat this year. It is ashame that th Honda sits in the driveway as much as it does instead of chasing tuna but then again the Duffy does ride alot better.

100 Days ---

I am so far behind on rigging....

PRBuzz 02-27-2010 06:50 PM

I'm itchy to fish: Just did the Big Game Bash Fri night/all day Sat. Seeing all those tuna pics makes one HUNGRY!

fish4striper 02-28-2010 08:10 AM

I'm itchin, went thru all my reels....been practicing splicing now, building a new rod, tow vehicle died, need to fix that when it gets a little warmer

keeperreaper 02-28-2010 06:39 PM

I have the smallest boat of all my friends so when the phone rings to go tuna fishing on another boat its foolish to say no. You are right though about having my boat sitting around, I've promised Dylan we would turn the month of July into a bail fest on the fluke like the good old days.

Bill's Duffy does have a nice warm heater and couch to boot.

Damn - I've got the heater but no couch - that's a fancy 31.

Matt - I'm stuck in Philly for the week - call you when I get back. Definately need to hear this.

When are we going to West Atlantis and Veatch on the Mirage?:drool:

clambo 03-02-2010 07:28 PM

Bills Duffy

That couch is mighty comfy but you must get there before Ed. That heater will blow you out of the cabin, but it didn't help the night we slept on it in November 30 degrees, still great times,Charlie come to Papa.:uhuh:

MakoMike 03-03-2010 09:25 AM

Hopefully after this whole thing with ICATT settles down we will still be able to fish for bluefin.

That is the ultimate plan, but it may not be until Sept that I actually get the boat far enough along the way I want /need it to be before I go that far...but until then I will be more local and fish between Eastern LI and Ptown. Right now, my CC is melting already and the cover is still on the boat! Next winter I am going to look to move the boat very close to my home, either on my property (there are some issues with that) or I may rent a friends indoor paint shop for the winter and put the intire boat inside and work on it all winter.
BOAT = Bring Out Another Thousand

Matt I figured you would be out to the bb buoy by now with the sun out :)

He was spotted at the Regal Sword this past weekend gazing south with a sign that said 'Welcome Back.'

Those Mirage's ride like nothing else and boy are they amazing in big nasties. You could not have picked a better well made boat. When the boat is ready and finished I'm sure you'll be thoroughly satisfied. What do you have for powerplants?

chathamblue30 03-11-2010 02:00 PM

Can your 21 footer carry the fuel to the Flemish Cap. I know you will go if it can :)
