Tuna bite getting better

2 sellers went were caught today. Good sign as was a 57" fish. Nice to see another year class around.

chathamblue30 06-04-2011 01:12 PM

Hope it was you landing those Matt!!! We are going to give it a shot tommorow,it's a wonder I can get the seacraft to float after all the #^&#^&#^&#^& that goes in it for one tuna trip. Life raft, survival suits,3 batteries,60 gallon livewell,8 rods,120 gals of gas,2 litres of cherry coke and 2 old guys . Did I mention the peanut butter and crackers for lunch :)

PRBuzz 06-04-2011 01:53 PM

I'll be out tomorrow somewhere on the southern/eastern bank area. Give a shout on 68 "Buzz". I'll be really all :) if I can boat a 57-59", although my lifetime best of a >73" won't be without :jump: !

chathamblue30 06-04-2011 02:23 PM

See you out there Buzz,we will be out of Marshfield on a black seacraft in the same area Mark

niko 06-04-2011 04:55 PM

good luck guys.

buckman 06-06-2011 08:07 AM

Not good out there this weekend. we saw one small fish caught. Had one swing and a miss. Few whales. Should be improved by next week. Kinda looking like a 09 repeat.

chathamblue30 06-06-2011 09:43 AM

No fish here either, one takedown may have been a bass or small tuna on the mack but that was the day. May try seal fishing soon seems to be quite a few out there, any ideas on leader size and bait preference :)

PRBuzz 06-06-2011 09:57 AM

I must have traveled 100 miles scouting and trolling and saw no signs of tuna. We were out looking by 5:30AM and spots were void of boats (I think we were the 1st out there), came back a couple hours later and the spot was filled with boats and still no tuna? Did I miss the party?

fishsmith 06-06-2011 12:56 PM

They must be killing em with all these bad reports :tooth:

I'm finally getting out tomorrow on the hunt for cod/haddock , looks like a bluebird day, which usually means a tough day for tuna, but we'll have the gear if their around.

codfeesh 06-06-2011 01:34 PM

hey mark any cod around out there?or you just go for tuna?

chathamblue30 06-06-2011 01:38 PM

Hey pal, yeah the cod fish has been great on the bank, they are heading more into the deeper water now. Give me a shout if you need a deck hand be happy to fill the CODFEESH up :)

keeperreaper 06-06-2011 04:45 PM

Zero for me also. Tons of bait and stripers but no charlie. Sporty on the way in to say the least. Next weekend hopefully will be better.

Yup, same (nothing landed) for me. Hit it hard all day saturday covering tons of ground over a 9 hr period. All lower 1/3 of Stellwagon around the backside to golf ball, in and out 7 miles. Didn't see one whale or any birds working.

Plenty of bass in & around Race Pt but tuna was prime target.

chathamblue30 06-06-2011 05:49 PM

Ok if Matt did not catch anything I at least have some self respect left !

Improving reports from yesterday!! This weekend should be great

Typhoon 06-07-2011 07:46 AM

Steve how did you and Jeff do?

We kept to the SWC and the Notch Saturday trying to save gas.

No birds, no bait, no marks.

Of course I had plenty of bait and my 3 rod spread looked beautiful. When the fish show up there will be no bait.

We fished PH the out east to the 400 line. Saw some fish but no takers. Jeff is fishing Thurs through Sun. I'll be out Sat and Sun.

Typhoon 06-07-2011 10:16 AM

I'll be out Sat and Sun as well.

I think Dom is fishing past the 400 line.

fish4striper 06-07-2011 11:49 AM

When in doubt, go east and don't shut it down till you start seeing fish....

Yesterday was a good day. Lots of fish. Caught and lost fish boatside. Staightend hooks at boat while measuring fish. Close to 80''. Great fight, and best of all was it was the 1st fish on MY Custom Rod I built. It didnt break in 2 and felt good. All in all a great DAY!!!

My 12 knots gets me there in about 12 hrs.

Look up Mayo Swell on a chart. About 50-60 miles east of P-town.
