The joke begins

Perfect call, but wait holding funds was illegal. I did nothing wrong but no documents or key witnesses allowed in the house. Nothing to hide, yet the trial has to be done in two 12 hour days, days that start at 1pm. Moscow Mitch doesn’t want the American people to see any of this, so it’s happening when most are fast asleep. Lots of new evidence to further incriminate Trump, but none of that will be allowed, it’s going down as expected, soon we can move on to 2020.

Winston Churchill pegged Moscow Mitch and his side kicks right when he said some men change their party for the sake of their principles and others change their principles for the sake of their party.

:hihi:.....but we get to listen to schumer whine...that's something

Schiff and Nadler have already prescribed to us that there is overwhelming evidence of obstruction of congress and high crimes and misdemeanors, which is why the house voted to impeach.

I'm sure they will bring all that evidence to the trial.

But, because they continue to ask for evidence, they weaken their own position and illuminate the partisanship of this effort.

Fair trial? Laughable. Not possible.

a poll Tuesday that found 49% of those surveyed said President Trump should be impeached and removed from office,
(never thought he would be removed)

Yet 71% think he should allow senior administration officials to testify
in a likely Senate impeachment trial.

Gotta love the polls.

So no house evidence will be allowed as part of the record, no reporters allowed in the chamber, no documents, no new witnesses and we do this fair “joke” of a trial in the dead of night. And midnight Mitch can say with a straight face this is a fair process and rules to move forward.

scottw 01-21-2020 01:19 PM

would you like an OOMPAH LOOMPAH ?

fishgolf 01-21-2020 01:56 PM

None of those polls have any access to the evidence that Schiff says hasn't been presented. Those are merely opinions, and the questions characterization of the information to be collected influence the results.

How would you like to be on trial and have public opinion determine process, guilt or innocence?

This is not like a real trial, even though Schiff et al says it should be.

None of the jurors is reviewed by the defense or prosecution for their suitability to serve and sit on their bench. So, partisanship should cement the outcome, just like it did in the House of Representatives.

fishgolf 01-21-2020 01:57 PM

Sorry,,, should have said "None of those polled"

detbuch 01-21-2020 02:21 PM

The joke began with promises to impeach as soon as Trump was elected. It became a real joke when the House impeached Trump.

I have never ever been polled. Does anyone know anyone who ever has? My whole life I have questioned how they in such a short order organize these "polls", get the results they want, and then able to formulate/ construe and circulate results fast enough that it is of any bearing. Look at polls on fishing websites. They take weeks and then are useless/ forgotten information by the time they are even done and that's of only a small sector. They are talking "nation wide " polls. Polls are a bunch of water cooler hodge-podge b.s. from cool aid drinkers.

If your a president capable of over 15,000 lies or mistruths in your time in office, you need to hire lawyers that can lie just as easily, hard to believe they can do it with a straight face and in front of the Chief Justice.

What a shock you would post it. What I hear so far is evidence vs rhetoric, how about producing documents and witnesses to make the case for the defense, no need to answer we all know why that is the GOPs biggest fear, it’s why Moscow Mitch wanted it done in two days and in the middle of the night.

They can’t because there is no defense.

That's it? That's what you heard in the video? Levin laid out fact after fact after fact after fact after fact and then some more and more. And all you heard was evidence vs rhetoric (whatever that is supposed to mean)? Being as how you claim to come to an opinion by witnessing to the facts, I assume your not being biased here.

So if what you claim to have heard here is not a result of bias, then I can only assume that you're a dunce.

We won’t, because this is a shameless cover up against the public opinion. Or common sense for that matter.

Levin laid out precisely the constitutional defense against the bogus unconstitutional charges of "obstruction of Congress" and "abuse of power".

If you don't know Russia invaded Europe in 2014 and Obama responded with crippling sanctions on Russia that Trump worked to end even as he sought to withhold military aid to Ukraine in 2017, 2018, and 2019 for his own benefit you may not have earned an opinion on this impeachment

This is anything but a cover up against the public opinion. Perhaps your expectations were never realistic. In any case,we have made tremendous progress in Davos for the USA.

Russia invaded Ukraine which is not part of the Eurpean Union. Russia is as much a part of "Europe" as we know it as Ukraine is. And Obama's policies did nothing to prevent that invasion nor to reverse it and return the Crimea back to Ukraine. And the sanctions, which didn't include military aid nor lethal weapons that Ukraine needed to defend itself and take back its lost territory, didn't "cripple" Russia nor do anything to change what Russia had done.

And this impeachment is not about that. It's articles are not about that. It is about the 2020 election and hurting Trump's chances, pure and simple.

I watched two seconds and it’s no different than all the rhetoric from the defense attorneys, the evidence is clear, the rhetoric and attempt to blur the wrong.

Saying you watched two seconds is essentially saying you didn't watch it. So you're pontificating out of ignorance.

Levin made it clear that the impeachment rhetoric is unconstitutional. The impeachment charges do not claim any actual crimes, let alone "high" ones, nor any high misdemeanors rising to the level of treason or bribery. The reason the House majority did not charge Trump with those high constitutional crimes is because they knew the evidence, which you claim to be clear, did not support such accusations. So they concocted vague but criminally sounding rhetorical accusations which, if allowed to stand, would fundamentally create a dangerous precedent that would rewrite, AMEND, the Constitution without having to go through the rigors of constitutionally doing so.

The more upset, scared or angry Trump is, the more he tweets. Yesterday, Trump broke his personal record — tweeting 142 times in a single day. He’s really lost it.

Losing it!!?? Man . . . he broke his record . . . he's totally on top of it.

History does repeat

46 years today 1/23/74

Nixon says he will “fight like hell” against impeachment, while still engaged in a massive coverup. He is desperately hiding certain incriminating evidence.

It would come out 6 months later and he resigned 8/9, damaging the GOP massively in mid-terms.
