Check out Animal Factory. It was directed by Steve Buscemi and stars Willem Dafoe. It was written by Edward Bunker a very good writer who spent most of his adult life in the California prison system.

Silence of the Lambs is a good one

what was that movie about a guy in a Turkish prison for years because of drugs he had on him at the airport, he eventually escapes? maybe based on true story?

Those films stir the soul & mind, give a real understanding of the human condition.

Now if we could just get the Academy to recognize the importance of these great Film Works......

I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang is a great 30s flick.

2nd Stir Crazy and The Rock!
Natural Born Killers was interesting/weird.

The Hill
Great prison movie from 1965 with a young Sean Connery.Obscure but worth watching.

Sure it wasnt "The Rock"? hahaaaa:spam: sorry

My late mother (bless her soul) hated anything to do with anyone being locked up. She even hated zoos. But my grandmother loved the movies, and would make my mom go with her. The worst of all movies were the Women in Prison films. My mom hated them, but granny made her go. :grins: God knows what grandma saw in those movies, but I guess she liked 'em.

The internal struggle of the Human Condition, The constant downward spiral of the human soul as the women try to maintain their dignity while having their will to live drained from their very being.


...or it could have been the inevitable Naked, Catfight, Shower scene.....that was always my favorite part :hihi:
