Tuna Wednesday

Got on the water @4AM with ODM and IamSkippy and what a day! Calm/flat seas meant the trip out was only 25 min (back too), whales all around, saw one pod of tuna, but best of all hooked up within 60 min trolling and boated a 59" fish. Exactly what the Capt. ordered.

Couple celebratory beers @6:30AM and back in to GH. Arrived Brockton by 9AM and tuna all quartered, steaked and on ice by 11AM.

Thanks Buckman for the guidance. Said Hi to Jr. as we were heading in and he was setting up today.

Nice work. :buds: I heard the bite was good. I think Jeff took 3, 2 on the bars and one spinning.

Awesome!!! Congrats. I was out in the general area also. Hit Race Pt & Peaked Hill for some blues & bass and had the place all to myself. Took the long way home back to Plymouth, swinging by the SEC & SWC corners.

Was treated to quite a whale show at the SEC and busting tuna at SWC, between 8-9a.

my wife would kill for that. I need to get some tuna.

kenyee 07-21-2011 01:05 PM

Let the tuna sit on ice a day or two and then have it as sushi...firms up a bit so it tastes better as sashimi.
When eaten fresh, it's a bit mushy (though stronger tasting). Can't call yourself a sushi lover until you've eaten one a few hours old though :-)
