Avet reel

On theadvice of a friend I purchased an Avet for use in the Canal. I am happy with my Newells and Ambassadeurs but thought I'd give this a try. I am having problems (or perceived problems) with the drag setting, although I seem to be able to get the initial "strike" setting ok, the second setting appears to have too much drag for the 20 lb mono I am using. How do I rectify this sityation or should I bump up to 25 lb test? Thanks Chuckg

slide the lever all the way down to freespool.

Give it one or two clicks counter clockwise.

Slide the lever up to strike

There will be less drag pressure

Slide the lever up to strike and see if thats what you're looking for.

I think from strike to full drag you're adding + or - 5lbs of drag or so

I've been fishing my sx with ande blue bc and I'm liking how its been acting.

thanks on that advice, I'll give it a try, other than this issue that avet casts like a dream...

i was confused with the drag as well.. when Timber says to give it a few clicks he is talking about the drag knob not the lever.. if you go into freespool you can adjust the drag knob, but not when you are 'in gear'
