Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson GONE

JUST removed from the show
for comments he made in GQ magazine
on GAYS...

he spoke his mind was all....
never said anything anti gay on the show! :fury:

the producers are A s S holes F- Them

http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/19/showbi...html?hpt=hp_t2

likwid 12-19-2013 08:26 AM

What was that? Calling a private business a holes for doing what they want?

Why do you hate America?

So you were defending gays in the thread about the baker refusing to make a cake for a gay wedding, but you're defending Phil Robertson for his anti-gay remarks? Which way is it Raven?

Raven 12-19-2013 08:45 AM

i feel the show is "the peoples show"
even though they are footing the Bill
and therefore the people (audience)
should make that decision....
they Fd-UP imo i've lived down south
have you?

and since your jumping in my face
instead of posting your view on the matter
here is the email i wrote the show producers
to clarify my position....
================================================
While i would agree that Phil Roberts comments were anti Gay
he did NOT utter them on the show...

I do not agree with many of his views especially his stance on telephones
things that are geeky, and his overall stubbornness... in General

but i truly believe ...

that his WAY of saying Grace At the Table was ("is") More Important

to AMERICA, even the World.... than what he said in a magazine Interview.

I will no longer be watching Duck DYNASTY after your decision
in Protest

it was the "peoples show" ...not yours and considering that fact
it was the "people's decision" to oust him or keep him on television.

I am also ANTI GAY! only from the stand point that we have to keep reproducing
human beings and NOT evolve into a society comprised solely of lesbian's and gays
that inseminate one another....making only test-tube babies
or the end of normal marriages entirely.

================================================
as far as sexuality goes: people can cram what ever they want into any orifice they want,
as kinky as they want , i don't care, go for it , and enjoy

likwid 12-19-2013 09:06 AM

Are you really defending some ridiculous reality show?

You're this concerned with the fate of some multi millionaire reality clown?

The problem with this country isn't Obama or LGBT or anything else like that, its this right here.

Nebe 12-19-2013 09:16 AM

Likwid is 1000% correct. People in this country give more of a crap about tv than what is going on in the real world. It's really frightening when you think about it.

I'm not jumping in your face Raven. I just see discrepancies in your opinions. Your the one that chose to voice your opinion on the matter in a public forum. I choose not to. That is my right as well. I am very opinionated on the subject, but it's a topic that can go back and forth forever with no resolution. Only bad feelings between otherwise friends.
I'm very sorry if your feelings were hurt thinking I was jumping in your face.

fishbones 12-19-2013 11:01 AM

Raven, when he does an interview or appears on talk shows, he's representing the A&E network and the show. They pay him a lot of money and they receive a lot of revenue from companies advertising on the show. You can be sure that comments like the ones he made are going to cause an uproar with advertisers and they'll threaten to pull their ads. This is a perfect example of when a tv personality should keep their thoughts to themself.

JackK 12-19-2013 11:32 AM

I'm more surprised that some people thought he didn't have those opinions. Isn't that the entire gist of the show?

Kinda like when Charlie Sheen got fired from Two and a Half Men for being exactly like his character in the show...

You mean like the Deadliest Catch guys pretty much giving Discovery a handjob when asked at the Working Waterfront Festival what it was like having the camera guys on the boats? :hihi:

I'm not sure what the guys from that show said, but I'd imagine they'd be in some trouble if they were bashing guys.

So, not to get all up in your face Raven, but you'll stand by PR till the day you die because he had the stones to say it. But once again, it contradicts what you feel about the baker that "had the stones to say it".
Here's what you said about the baker;

"they should make this guy eat some weed brownies, inhale some nitrous oxide ,
smoke some of the finest giggle grass like skunky bubblegum, drink some wine
chugging on his own bottle and eat a couple grams of magic mushrooms (preferably all at the same time) while watching pink floyd pulse

and make him a more highly enlightened individual instead of the uptight stuck in a box of doggiedoo dogmire crap that's ruining his Life immeasurably."

Again, I hope you don't feel like I'm picking on you lest your feelings be hurt. Just pointing out inconsistencies in your opinionated stance here.

spence 12-19-2013 01:25 PM

His opinion is an ignorant and offensive one. He has every right to speak his mind but his employer has every right to protect their business interests.

This will be the end of the show.

Real life vs Reality TV "heros"

Its not just kids idolizing the BS they show on TV.

Swimmer 12-19-2013 03:29 PM

Did anyone consider these statements made by the birdcall billionaire could have been scripted for ratings and notoriety sake? It wouldn't be the first time an unscrupulous publicist threw someone to the wolves. I mean without ever speaking to the guy everyone here would know how he felt and what his response would be to just about every question we could think of asking him. Or it could be a setup by GQ to go after the show, because theyy well knew what his answers would be.

As offensive as Phil's opinions are they are nothing more than opinions and he has the RIGHT to express them.

Once again I'll bring up that fool bishop Tobin and his dumbass opinion on Mandela but he has the RIGHT.

Being fired for your constitutional RIGHT to free speech, good or bad,is just wrong.
You don't like Phil then don't watch the show.

I'm so freakin' tired of watching Americans being forced to apologize for their constitutional right to say dumb sh!t.

The Dad Fisherman 12-19-2013 04:07 PM

Could also be a Publicity stunt by A&E to generate some free publicity as well

A business has a right to fire someone if they make stupid remarks, even if it is considered "free speech". If you owned a business and one of your employees said that pedophilia is great and shouldn't be a crime, would you feel comfortable having him work for you? I guess you'd want to keep him because what he said is protected under "free speech".

fishsmith 12-19-2013 04:24 PM

Not when a major network has a contract with his signature on it.

Unless your contract says "don't make an ass of yourself to the detriment of the network".

Then all bets are off.

Also what fishbones said.

Since nobody cares what you say at your job, you probably wouldn't get fired. You're not a public figure, though. And if you ever said that to my face, getting fired or banned would be the least of your worries. You'd be eating your cake through a straw in the hospital.

Lol. A lot of companies have fire at will clauses in their contract and can fire you with no reason at all and you can't do a thing about it. But in this case they fired him for a specific reason which is BS. Fact!If we were all gay there would be nobody left on the planet. Fact penises and vaginas go together so we can reproduce. Fact god is not real therefore gays won't go to hell. Fact 2 penises don't make a baby. Fact 2 vaginas don't make a baby. Fact butt holes do not make baby's. Fact when someone's feelings get hurt it's ok, just a part of life. Fact if I don't like something I simply just don't take part. Fact I don't give 2 chitz what people think of my opinions.

The comments are "reflective of a Biblical view of sexuality, marriage, and family – a view that has stood the test of time for thousands of years" A child of the 60s and all the sex, drugs and rock and roll has re-found his faith in the church. If you follow the word, the two sides are incompatible. It might not be PC for a network or its advertisers, but it is the teaching a majority of the nation initially learned. You choose.... and that includes choosing whether to speak up or not....

It was all good for the Roman Empire, and they're.....oh yeah... that ended.
