We can do it just like last year, each guy makes one plug for the person who's name he draws. Maybe do repro's of some classic's this year. Last year we did 2 plugs at the last minute and had the auction for Bill and Jules. Maybe do the same this year for a worthy cause!

And Paul you can do one or two plugs in your sleep!

iamskippy 11-24-2012 04:01 PM

Lou, i would be interested.

rayndogg 11-24-2012 08:02 PM

i would be interested in get in on this.

the greek 11-25-2012 09:04 AM

If there's enough interest I'd be in.

Canalman 11-25-2012 06:10 PM

I think I can make the time and I haven't done a swap in maybe 5 years.. maybe 6.

Mojo7 11-25-2012 07:14 PM

I'd be interested.

That's 7, let's let It ride for a few weeks to see if there is more interest. No rush on this. Anyone have any ideas for this?

The Dad Fisherman 11-26-2012 09:12 AM

Personally, I like the swaps where everybody gets 1 plug from each builder involved.

Say you have 7 people, you make 7 plugs and send them to the organizer, with money to cover shipping, he then packages up 6 plugs (1 from each builder other than you) and sends you a "Care" package of 6 plugs. The 7th plug goes to JohnR to Auction/Raffle off for the site or other worthy Charity.

You limit it out to maybe 10 people max.....so you don't spend all winter making 30 plugs just for the swap :hihi:

this is just my 2 cents.....I'll do it however you want. I'm easy :hee:

WoodyCT 11-26-2012 05:34 PM

Interested!

Would prefer to choose the type of plug myself, as I have limited time, experience and tools.

Perhaps a theme that will encourage the less experienced guys to get involved, and in so doing learn from the mavens like Ted and Numby.

Just a thought...

I would be interested but only for one or two, not 10. I'm getting very close to finishing up a strip built Mahogany kayak, and have not yet stepped into the lure shop to blow the dust off the equipment.

I'm with Douglas. Would like to keep it small. You could probably twist my arm and I would do 10 but would rather put my mind to several good ones. What about 3 plugs. Two rounds of randomly picked #'s and one to go into a pot for charity or the site? As for themes how about lipless swimmers or any swimmer without a conventional metal lip?

I like that! Lipless swimmers, Hmmm I think I could handle one of them things.

Canalman 11-26-2012 09:02 PM

I'd do as many as 8, but that's my limit. Two sounds good though :tooth:

Why not pick a name to build for and then do a random drawing so each participant gets two plugs?

And I like the idea of doing lipless

rayndogg 11-26-2012 09:22 PM

i like the idea of the three plug two round donate one for the action
i have done some lipless type swimmers, but not a pro at them..

Let's keep it to a max of 3 plugs. Two plugs worked out well last year, I think I could handle 3. I also like the idea of Lipless, but I am not doing Nikes! I have another Lipless I want to try. If any one is challenged by the lipless I think we can all lend some help and advise.

I'm in if we keep it a 3 plugs and have it after the Holidays. I have about 50 plugs I'm making for gifts for Family and friends and with my work and travel schedule, I won't have time till January comes around.

ThrowingTimber 11-27-2012 11:30 AM

I'd like to participate as well.

I make that 11 in on the swap:
Dad,Skippy,Rene,Ted,Dave,Mojo,Woody,Doug,Paul I,Timber and yours truly.
What are we looking at for finish date? Three plugs as Dave said so all get two and one for an auction? Lipless?

The Dad Fisherman 11-28-2012 09:59 AM

Fine with me......I'd go with end January for a date.....gets people through the Holidays.

The Lipless thing might actually get me off my A$$ to do the Roman Nikes I've been wanting to try. :hee:

timmah 11-28-2012 10:15 AM

I would like to be in on this, I have some special wood crying to become fat darters.

Sgt Striper 11-28-2012 10:51 AM

A couple of ideas for lipless:
Nike
Musso Lipless
Bottle
Predator (sp?)
Darters ?

I guess make it an even dozen!

blondterror 11-28-2012 02:48 PM

I'm in too. I have been making Xmas fundraiser stuff and have not been on SB.com much recently. I can make darters, Musso repros, needles, polaris poppers with squirt jet... almost anything ... not good at Bottles... thats Sgt's and Rockfish territory

How about a 7" Mag Darter. Thinking about doing these but I have another idea I'm messing around with.

I made some giant needles for the Block. I'll make 1 as part of my 3.
