getting fired for saying "all lives matter"

I thought we had reached the zenith of absurdity when we let men decide which restroom they felt like using, and when we let boys compete with girls in high school athletics.

But we have taken stupidity to new heights when saying "all lives matter" is sufficient grounds for losing your livelihood. If I say "all lives matter", and what you somehow hear is "black lives don't matter", that's on you, not on me.

And given the lack of liberal concern for the black lives lost to garden-variety street violence in Chicago, ne can only conclude that it's not "black lives" that matter to liberals. It's "certain black lives" that matter, specifically, the lives that help democrats win elections.

Does the same go for saying there is only one race, the human race?

no. we have different cultures, and that’s a good thing. in a rational world where the media didn’t have a vested interest in creating hate, we’d be able to celebrate our differences.

saying all lives matter, is
nowhere near the equivalent, as saying there aren’t different cultures. not even close.

i answered your question. can guy show me the same courtesy? if i say all lives matter, by what logic does that diminish the notion that black lives matter? don’t liberals see that “all” includes blacks? do they not know what “all” means?

Well if you’re really that convinced that all lives matter is what really should be the conversation, put a sign on your desk at work.
Let me know how the discussion with HR goes

as usual you missed the point. i agree I’d be fired. i’m saying it’s a good indicator of how effed up the left is, that they get so offended by something as benign and obvious as “all lives matter.”

didn’t liberals used to claim they were all about free speech and inclusion and diversity? how does that hold up when people get fired for saying all lives matter?

have fun with trying to answer that.

the left is so deranged, that “all
lives matter” is hate speech now?

You're kind of making his point, in what bizarro world should a sign that says "All Lives Matter" result in a call from HR?

more to make my point.

when one says “all lives matter”, what liberals hear, is “ black lives don’t matter.” that’s not crazy.

"all lives matter...every single one". Saying this, necessarily means you aren't racist. In a sane world, that is. We no longer are in a sane world, the libs have taken us deep into the Twilight Zone.

You really need to get out of that liberal insurance business.
Why else would they fire you?
Perhaps because saying Black Lives Matter doesn’t mean that all lives don’t.
It means Black lives are at risk in ways others are not.

As far as your silly question, you couldn't ask for a more clear-cut moment of threat against free speech, individual rights and freedom of assembly than what we are seeing in the US right now. Protestors, demonstrating against the killing of a class of people by law enforcement, attacked by police in the street, beaten, hit by tear gas, shot with rubber bullets, put under curfew and branded "terrorists" by their own president.

So where are the great free speech advocates of the right? Nowhere to be heard.
You’re twisting slogans into weapons to use against the people you see as being different and it’s no different than threats to the rule of law, voting rights or health care.
All you’re doing is lobbying against change and concerned about threats to your perceived social class.

"Perhaps because saying Black Lives Matter doesn’t mean that all lives don’t"

Who ever claimed that saying black lives matter, means that all don't matter? I never heard anyone claim that.

What I hear ALL liberals claim, is that saying that all lives matter, somehow means that black lives don't matter. I haven't heard any liberals disagree with this statement, and it's asinine.

Stop moving the goalposts.

"You’re twisting slogans "

No, I'm not. I have no problem with saying that black lives matter, because of course they do. Your side is twisting what is obviously meant by people who say "all lives matter". Do you people not understand what the word "all" means? Is that your issue?

"All you’re doing is lobbying against change "

No idea what that means. Saying "all lives matter" doesn't mean that no changes are needed.

You're jumping to asinine, asinine conclusions. As usual.

Pete F. 07-07-2020 12:58 PM

Dodged my question, no surprise.
Saying all lives matter is of course true. But all it does is to protect inequality.
Humans do not live in perfect equality. Oppressed groups exist. They suffer disadvantages on the basis of how they are perceived. Black people suffer worse treatment at the hands of the police, worse treatment in work, worse treatment in the criminal justice system, worse treatment in healthcare. That's not a full list. It's the tip of an iceberg.
We need to solve the issue, it’s not going away and trying to paint it as an attack on the rest of society only shows that you believe, against evidential reality, that all people are treated equally now.

Again, I have never heard anyone, certainly no one who matters, suggest that blacks haven't suffered uniquely. No one disagrees with you.

I still don't understand (no sane person understands), why when someone says "all lives matter", what you hear is "blacks have never suffered". In a common tactic, liberals here are responding to something which no one is saying.

Here's a question. If liberals want to help blacks thrive, why do they oppose school choice, when poor blacks desperately want school choice?

Nebe 07-07-2020 01:16 PM

Well. People get fired for saying black lives matter. What’s your point?

Me?? Nothing matters.... I just keep on enjoying my life and ignore everyone else’s misery. Oh wait. I guess that’s white privilege. Wtf.

Some people would wonder why if all it takes for blacks to thrive is school choice that they would protest against systemic racism.

It is idiotically simple minded to reduce the fate of blacks to systemic racism. Some people would think that if blacks predominantly live in democrat run localities, and there is such a thing as systemic racism in those communities and in the agencies run by those communities, that Democrats would hold a great proportion of responsibility for such systemic racism.

And that if in education (which Democrats so overwhelmingly attribute to personal outcomes) there was a choice to opt out of the schools that fail them (which are predominantly run by Democrats and the leftist unions and left leaning college classrooms that taught their teachers) it would be more than welcome rather than so strenuously resisted.

again, responding to something that no one ever said. do you see how often you do that? even you know you can’t respond to what i said, so you pretend i said something not even close to what i said. don’t you think it’s funny that you either dodge my questions, or respond to something i never said? what does that say about you, that those are your only two options?

i notice that liberals oppose all the things that would help blacks
get ahead - in tact nuclear families, having dads, school choice, jobs over welfare. why, if i didn’t know better, i might conclude
liberals want blacks stuck
in sh*thole cities, because if blacks started thriving they’d move to the suburbs and vote republican.
