Is the Mueller investigation coming to a head

With the raid on Trump’s consigliere’s office is the investigation moving into a new phase?
One of The Fox legal talking heads said that the only way a Judge would grant that search warrant is if he was shown evidence of serious crimes committed with the knowledge ofMichael Cohen. Cohen’s only clients are DT and the Trump Organization.
What’s next?

spence 04-09-2018 08:42 PM

The President's personal attorney being raided by the FBI? Come on, this happens all the time.

God I hope it is over soon. Problem is many people from one side will not believe the results depending on who is favored.

Trump brands FBI raid on lawyer Michael Cohen's office 'disgraceful' funny if he didn't know anything about the payment there should be noting to see

And another example of trying to discredit the FBI

sadly he speaks more harshly about Americans who he feels are picking on him than Putin

I'm afraid it will never really be over. How can you have any idea what to believe? On one hand, Trump doesn't have much of a moral compass, he is capable of just about anything. On the other hand, the DOJ and the FBI leadership have obviously been influenced by personal political agendas to some extent.

The left will say the DOJ is simply following the evidence, and that Trump has only himself to blame for this mess. The right (Sean Hannity at least will say that Trump is an innocent victim who is being railroaded by a DOJ that has a politically motivated agenda. Both sides have plenty of evidence they can point to, to support their claims. But if Trump could just grow up a bit and govern, we'd all be better off. I don't think he can.

Got Stripers 04-10-2018 09:40 AM

Trump open's an important meeting yesterday by stating I learned the FBI "broke" into my long time attorney's office and then repeatedly stated they found no collusion.

Pretty sure the extremely rigorous steps required to even get a search warrant on his attorney meant they didn't need to break down the door. He must think the general public are stupid to believe that right after the FBI shared everything they found and confirmed no collusion was found; man does this clown ever stop spinning his lies and miss truths?

It’s Mueller Time !!!!!

Trump complains about a "witch hunt" following the raid on his lawyer's office, the US attorney in New York who is heading the investigation is a Trump appointee as is the FBI director whose agents conducted the raid.
I guess he just appointed the wrong best people.
Meanwhile there is a breaking story of the Trump org's lawyer threatening Panama's president with "repercussions" if he didn't help them with issues with their hotel.

Pete, they're a bunch of lefties who have been pretending to be Republicans for the past 40 years. It's a Deep State sleeper cell :smokin:

it's like RI where Lincoln Chaffee is a "conservative republican"

DZ 04-10-2018 10:43 AM

I don't know what to think. My gut feeling is there will be a trail of arrests of various characters for various charges unrelated to collusion with Russia. In the end Trump will remain standing president.

PaulS 04-10-2018 11:21 AM

It is laughable that Trump cries that they are all Dems. when he appointed them all and they where all Repub. I think this relates to the Stormy contract and Trump's insistence he knew nothing about the agreement and/or the $ to pay her off. If Trump where to ever testify to that under oath, I would imagine Cohen would prob. lose his license.

Is there anyone involved w/this admin. who is upright and honest?

I think I have said many, many times, I wouldn't put anything past Trump. He's capable of anything. At the same time, the DOJ under both the Trump and Obama administrations, hasn't conducted itself as professionally as we like to think they do. There's corruption and ethical lapses everywhere you look.

I'm not saying Trump is an innocent victim being railroaded. I'm saying that any rational person would be at least a little bit skeptical of anything the DOJ says with regards to Trump, until the facts are known. It could very well be that the investigation has been flawless. But we don't know that yet, and for sure the DOJ no longer deserves the assumption that it's being impartial. Just ask the press corps that was kicked off the private jet so that Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch could speak in private, just before it's announced that Hilary was clear., which was followed shortly by Hilary saying she'd consider keeping Lynch as AG if she won. Nothing to see there, nope. They were just sharing photos of grandchildren.

That's a good question. Pence and Mattis and Nikki Haley?

It's absolutely impossible to know what to think. Trumps antics may very well cost the GOP the house in November. I have zero interest in re-living the experience of seeing Pelosi as speaker again.

I actually was going to say Pence and Haley but Mattis could be added to that list.

Just another "But Hillary"
In case you were not sure she was not elected.
That would have been a whole other problem, but it has nothing to do with this.
What you are claiming is that the AG in Manhattan who Trump appointed to replace Preetinder Singh Bharara whom he fired is corrupt and is trying to frame Trump. You are buying into Trump's gaslighting.
Do you think yesterday that when he was sitting in the cabinet meeting ranting about the DOJ and FBI that all the career government employees he was surrounded by, who have dedicated their lives to this work, were thinking who is he going to screw over next, do you think they trust him? Did you watch their body language?
He cannot find qualified legal representation because he is out of control and wont listen to advice. Nobody wants the Trump stain. Of course you knew that when you voted for him.

sounds like she's still in denial...

Jim is correct...the Clinton's and Obama had a big part in creating the Olympic size corruption pool that Trump now does backstroke laps in on a daily basis

So I am not allowed to provide evidence of why we can't just believe the DOJ, if it makes democrats look bad? Is that about right?

Trump is unethical. The DOJ has also been unethical the last few years.

Because if a Trump appointed AG called a secret meeting with him, the day before announcing no charges, you would have zero questions, zero skepticism. You'd claim that there is nothing to see.

scottw 04-10-2018 08:43 PM

must be bad since it looks like he's about to bomb something...that's what Clinton would do
