I have used this source of dowels. He's reliable and has many kinds of wood including Alaskan yellow cedar.

same here,,,, I have been using Birch and get a whole dowel for what they are asking per ft..... and thats just going to woodcraft.com

McMaster-Carr is very reasonable for their dowels and they are good quality.

True, but he has excellent quality wood and he will sell small quanitiies, which is all I need.
