The T-T Band record is great. Went to the Hep C benefit at the Beacon with the Allmans last night. The first set which was an hour and a half consisted of the Allmans. They played very well. They were joined by Natalie Cole for killer versions of A Change is Going to Come and The Weight.
The second set opened with Crosby and Nash who did Marakesh, Guenivere together and then were joined by the Allmans with Phil Lesh on bass for Almost Cut My Hair and Cowboy Song. Lesh stayed C&N left and they then did Shakedown Street, Sugaree and Roll Away the Dew. Natalie Cole rejoined for Whipping Post taking the first verse with Greg doing the 2nd and 3rd. The encores with everyone were Midnight Rider and Will the Circle Be Unbroken which had Billy C. Gibbons on guitar. The show went from 8:30 to 12 with one 15 minute break.

I am going to see them next month at the Beacon in NYC and I am really looking forward to it. Listened to the new album today and liked it but I am going to have to have a few more listens before I have a definite opinion on it. In any event they are a great live band. By that I mean they take chances and interact with each other. A friend told me they were doing George Harrison's Wah Wah as an encore. I think that would be outrageous to hear and I hope it is still in the set when they get to NYC.

Just got tickets for their September stand at the Beacon. Kind of picked me up from the depression I have that Wednesday will be my last Allman Brothers show.

I saw the Derek Trucks Band there a few years ago,Beware, there is really almost no place to sit.You must stand for hours. You can go upstairs and sit on the floor if you get really fatigued.

Saw them last Friday at the Beacon in nyc. Band sounded great. Jerry Douglas and Taj Mahal each sat in for an extended period. Minor gripe: I would rather hear more of their stuff then hear them play old blues songs with guests. Did a killer version of the Dominos "Keep on Growing".
