This storm su*ked

Lost a massive and beautiful choke cherry, which luckily missed the house and almost took down my kayak and trailer. Lost a big area of shingles off the roof and our other choke cherry when down into the neighbors yard. First trip was to buy a new 26” huskavarna saw, my 18” echo was going to cut it. The kayak trailer tongue was five feet in the air with a large limb resting on the back of the trailer, a nearby retaining wall and likely the slower speed it came down probably saved it. Took hours to extract it but I think it’s ok. I have days of clean up ahead, tapping the high roof will be a challenge.

that sucks... at least no windows are broken and the house is standing... we got spared here, a lot of pine needles, but not a single branch... I have a 26" Husky that's my ice saw.. it is a cutting machine.. good luck with the repairs

New pruning sawblade is on the UPS truck today. Screws into an extension pole (up to 24'). I have a lot more need of it now than when I ordered it a few days ago... There are four hung up smaller branches and one large widow maker hung up in a choke cherry. That one needs to be roped so it won't roll into the deck/railing/house when it gets cut free. Just cleaning my own place. Not offering to do clients'. Too physical and young guys out there to do it with less recovery time needed. I already had my tree guy scheduled and confirmed for Monday! (he was supposed to be here in August)

I lost power at home and at my shop. The shop is a pisser because my glass furnace had to stay above 1000 degrees or things can crack and that gets really expensive so I have the door open a little and a propane “fluffy torch” in the door keeping it warm. A big pain in the butt.I don’t think I will get power restored until tomorrow. Grrrr

Surprisingly the kayak survived, thanks to being near a retaining wall, sad to see this magnificent tree gone. After cutting most of the larger limbs away she stood back up, begging me to carve two adult eagles, one young and large nest of sticks between all three; all I need is staging and the will to tackle this massive job. Roof tarped today, a lot of the clean up done, handling the large root cluster that blocked our walkway was a challenge.

Sad to lose a good tree. I have many and I'm wondering if my beech may be leaning a bit.

I feel for you guys. Where I live in Connecticut we were spared the worst of the wind.

Don’t dis my beech. She had a chunk taken out of her last year when a neighbors tree went down. They don’t maintain much at all and it drives me mad.

Speaking of choke cherry trees, this 60 footer took some hellacious winds during the night but uprooted around 4 AM. It took a while before the pressure severed my workshop wires and my neighbors' too, I saw sparks at 5:30 so I got on my computer to report it to the Middleboro Gas and Electric. That was the last time I had power for 4 days. Finally up and running now. What a bunch of wind we got, I had not idea we would get 90 mph winds. It sounded like the top of Mt. Washington all night Tuesday into Wed. morning. Very grateful I have a generator to save all my food from 3 freezers but I am glad to not have to listen to that noise any longer. I should research some kind of muffler for it, my neighbors must hate me. My tree causes it and then they have to listen to that engine. I got sick of it by Thursday night so bad I shut it off for 7 hours.
Shop has power now, at first the repair guys only got half of it working, they figured it out thankfully I said something before they left.
I am so behind in work for the 2 kitchens I am doing but will do the best I can do. I have never been busier. Good to have to turn down work. Exhausting 3 days keeping gas going in Carver for MIL and ours and cleaning up yard and cutting some trees. But it keeps me young.
Hope everyone has power by now.
yes that storm sucked.

Gazebo was a given to get destroyed. Surprised to see cushions still in place...

Would have taken roof off before if I knew it was gonna blow hard. It ripped some of the frame corners up that were screwed down with 1-5/8” screws

Velcro on cushions

All set Joe but thanks
Lots of trees down all over town
