War documentaries
Along the lines of the war movies thread what are your favorite documentaries?
World at War. Color of War. Vietnam:The 10,000 Day War. But by far the most educational and heartfelt would be Ken Burns' The Civil War. |
The HBO documentary "Bangin in Little Rock" :uhoh:

I think I remember one called GI Diary where they used archive films and footage guys took on their own and someone who had been there would narrate about the place or event.

The Battlefield series on PBS - Stalingrad, Midway - excellent stuff
|
shootout series on history channel

There was a really good one on last night, on PBS. It was about all Rhode Island service men, who landed in Normandy, on D-Day. There was alot of actuall footage in it, and 8 or 9 veterans actually went back to Normandy, to meet the French, and visit the landing beaches. It was real interesting, and very touching.

Victory at Sea was another good one.
