The 425BE Alvey fly reels feature a strong, light weight graphite construction which makes them a great match with lighter rods. Built to handle serious saltwater fly fishing with a beautifully smooth (adjustable) multi-plate clutch and a super strong non-reverse drag which can be finely tuned. This model has the handle directly attached to the spool which gives the angler total control over the fish. Direct pressure can be applied to the fish by winding the handle then. By releasing the handle, the clutch pressure controlled by the adjusting wheel takes over. If the angler requires more line pressure you can apply palm pressure to the spool (The rear line can be removed if you prefer this style of fishing).

Other features include the vented back plate, a strong metal foot and a ratchet to control line stripping.

These reels are built for heavy duty fresh water fly such as king salmon or blue water ocean fly fishing.

Also available in left hand.
