Diamond/Hopkins Jigs

I don't know if diamond jigs and hopkins jigs are effective in surf fishing, but i have one of each and i was wondering if any one could tell me anything about how to fish them in the surf because I've been extremely unlucky when fishing them. I've generally fished them slowly towards the bottom near jetties (my beach has a jetty about every 150 yards on average) and a bowl that formed late last year.

ive had good luck with hopkins lures fished closer to the surface when i hear stripers breaking. I like a single hook bucktail. Also had good luck with em on blues. I think they are more effective when there are narrow profile baitfish around, sand eels or silversides.

I had a massive fish on a 2.5 ounce hopkins last night for about 3 minutes till it shook me.:smash: :smash: :af: :af:
