Anybody have a Tarpon 12? How do you like it?

I don't own one, but know people who have owned them and they really liked them. The issue is that Hobie is pretty much dominating the market right now, so not many people are paddling anymore!

I have a Tarpon 12 if its great but if I were to buy another one I would buy a 14.

If you go with a 12, you had better have a rudder. The shorter the kayak, the harder it is to track in a straight line without a skeg or rudder.

I actually bought the tarpon about two months ago and like it a lot. My plan was only to use it for freshwater in the spring and fall and it serves that purpose fully, though I think it could definitely hold up in the brine. It's quite stable, has plenty of storage and comes with features like the anchor trolley, rod holders and foot braces. Get yourself a good high back seat and throw a milk crate in the back and your set.
