Power Bait

Anyone try power bait on a tip up? My lake has a few trout in it and i use to hammer them as a kid with shiners but have not had any luck the last couple years. I am thinking that power bait might do the trick.

yes.... two ways to fish it because it floats ( actualy 3 if you use a small treble.. which i do not)... to weight it down.. i make a small "pea" about a little larger than a salmon egg... slide the hook in it and extend the point and barb of a #10 hook.. I tip the hook with 1 or two salmon eggs and send the smorgasboard to the bottom.. the other method which I no longer use is to bury a small split shot inot the power bait as i mold it around the hook... the PB/egg method is my "go to" and ices dozens of shallow water bows for me each season...
